I think alot of the HQ staffs are not used on most other mage jobs, 99% of them only use the one that increases cure potency and the one that increases MP regeneration, the other 1% of tanks get the one that reduces physical damage. Very rarely do you see anyone but Smn using the rest. I'm vague on Blm use of staffs, I haven't heard anything about these boosting elemental attacks for each staff, if that is so then that is 1 other job who has a serious use for them. I don't envision all the other jobs swaping all the elemental staffs for any other reason though.

smn, blm, rdm are those job that use all or most of the staff.
smn use it for the reduce mp use on avatar summon and maybe even their avatar attack.
blm use it for their attacking magic spell according to the spell element. HQ increase damage by +15% compare to +10% on non HQ
rdm too use it for attacking magic spell but also more importantly on enfeeble magic spell like enfeeble spells like paralyze, slow,gravity,bind etc on level pt or hnm.
with HQ staff all this work really well.

As a rdm i usually switch between elemental staff for my enfeeble spells.

If you ask me about the price for the staff, i say its worth every cent of the HQ staff comparing the effect it give then other equipement.
If you cant get a whole set for your smn,blm,rdm at least get some more important one.
Example for smn get HQ wind, dark,ice and maybe earth? not very sure since my smn is only 39+
for blm get HQ ice, thunder and maybe fire or water?forgot to get dark too for sleep make it simple get the most useful one that level up pt need to mb for renkei. i am sure ice is very good and thunder for a lv 75 blm as its the most damage spell when u hit 75.

for rdm u need HQ ice for paralyze and bind, wind for gravity and dont know what i forgot lol. dark for sleep and maybe for blind ? and maybe earth for slow.

this few are the most important one to me for those jobs.Buy it if you can although i cost something like 1.5-3M for each

MNKs and PLDs also use staves. MNKs use Terra and I believe Apollo (Not sure if this affects Chi Blast, but there's +2 to MND there) and PLDs use Terra as well. So it's not just mages. When you think about it, there's demand for those staves and more than likely, your average end game SMN will not just drop his HQ staves for this one either. Rather, they'll just add this new stave to their collection.

Also, if you did enough gobbie bag quests, then you shouldn't need to worry about inventory issues. Inventory issues are a thing of the past, even for NINs now that they can stack stacks of tools together.

there are some superstitious about elemental staffs and crystal synthing too. so some people may still keep their staffs for this.
