    what if high level players started creating mini campaigns for other groups to complete, with donated items as prizes or something?

    Very few people would do it, because nobody would donate the items.

        just my opinion, people will get together to do stuff like missions when they share a common goal or help friends. So, the game defined missions and quest with story lines are their choice. Player define mission won't offer any story nor reward, so, no one will start it, and no one will participate.
        There are painters who transform the sun into a yellow spot,
        but there are others who with the help of their art and their intelligence
        transform a yellow spot into the sun.

            I will start one then.

            You (or your group of up to 6 members total, including yourself) will get my SH if you're the first one to complete this mission:

            Mission PK Impossible

            -You (or your group) must MPK the GM(s) at least five times and still be able to play on your account.
            -Your (or your group's) PK/MPK on other players must result in at least 500 deaths and still be able to play on your account.
            -You must goad Sage Sundi to come and play on your server and PK his toon at least five times and still be able to play on your account.

            You have one whole week (7 consecutive 24 hour days beginning at 0:00 and ending at 23:59) to complete this mission. Your group of 6 must not be altered, although not all 6 members need to be present as each successful attempt from each player will count towards the overall score. Every member in your party must be able to play on their account. If any of the members are permanently banned, then the group will be disqualified.

            Mission Goals

            -Teaches players on how to cooperate with each other.
            -Players learn how to be resourceful and maximize and actualize their skill potential.
            -Players learn how to respect the environment they are in by appreciating and working with the terrain and monsters in the zones. This form of appreciation will allow creative ways to PK/MPK their fellow players.
            -Players will learn various social skills while participating in this mission that can be applied to the real world. By being able to handle hostile and provacative situations with other players and by opening up new doors of communication.




            ... btw, this was a joke if you didn't get it halfway through. If you are still seriously debating on taking me up on this mission, realize that I only exist on one server. >.> And that I bear no responsibility in the event that you actually do accept this mission and participate in it.

                  Well I know some LS's have events with prizes that are open to everyone. Like the lvl 1 job run in Qufim. Great event and so fun to watch! They don't happen often but I wish they did!

                    the idea is actually not bad at all... think about a system implemented in FFXI where you would go to some sort of AH-like place where you would offer money or items for stuff you needed, a mission or a quest that you need help with or something, that would actually be pretty cool, if well done and thought about

                        Man, I love this idea. I'm on a linkshell where the members usually don't play at the same hours I do so it's hard for me to find help in certain situations. If something like this was made then I think it would help me out a great deal.
