    Re: I. HATE. HNMLSes.

    ouch...

I guess I was fortunate for my key, but I did join a group what was Coffer Key/Skill Up party, where someone was shouting for Jeuno for awhile. We did have a full 18 person alliance and Serket DID pop but we were left alone. I guess the mix-match of LS colors helped the Gilsellers not consider is a threat because I know they weren't paying attention to the shouts in Jeuno, if any of them were in Jeuno.

well, looking over the pics again, looks like your LS's represented was a lot like my experience.

As mentioned above, not all HNMLSs are like this. But it's the bad apples that give the rest a bad name. Sorry to hear you had such an awful experience hunting your Garlaige key (something which ought to be pretty routine, as it is one of the easiest keys in the game to acquire).

Yes, but it makes up for its getting the key easiness by making it a pain in the butt to get the coffer.

True. Unless you have good friends/LS mates at level 65+ who can babysit you past the gates, it's quite annoying to try to get to the coffer area (though not impossible). Still not as hard as, say, Temple of Uggalepih, which I believe is by far the most difficult coffer to open in FFXI.

Here is what kiting is: "shoot bow to claim monster, keep running around in circles, then shoot, then run, then shoot, and so on"

MPK: One person mobs a shit load of monsters, runs up to another PC player, gets killed by those monsters (or let them get aggro due to them heaing or something) and the monsters go after the other team.

                  Re: I. HATE. HNMLSes.

MPK stands for Monster (or mass, depending on the context) Player Kill, and is carried out in the method described above. BSTs can do this too by charming hostile monsters and releasing them near parties, hoping that they'll aggro them and kill them.

Kiting (also known as Marathon to the JP) involves aggroing a monster from a distance, keeping the monster aggroed to you whilst running around in a circle, keeping the monster at a distance. This way, the monster will never attack you with standard attacks since you're too far away but because its hate is planted on you, it will leave other players alone (not taking AOE into consideration). While it's running around people attack with ranged attacks or magic to try and kill it. Other players assist kiting with spells like Gravity and Stun, or abilities like Shadowbind.
