Well don't worry too much about that idiot. You DID give prior notice. You said you had to go, find a replacement, and I'll stay until they get here. I've had this happen to me aswell, (so has almost every player), but I've also had the opposite. In the 50's, people can sometimes wait up to 2k in exp, if the levelling is good.

Although I understand when a line must be drawn, I think it is a balance between, exp gained, the time you've spent in party, and how close you are to level to decide whether a party should stay together at the last minute.

that pt leader was a jerk, divide. you said you would wait for a replacement to get here. he hurt the pt's xp, not you.

IMO, if you want to join a pt, lvl for 10 mins then find a replacement and leave, so long as you wait for the replacement to arrive, then thats fine. Especially if its the same job as you. Post 30, and really post 20 everyone should be adequate at playing their jobs and hitting sc's and mb's etc. so finding a skilled replacement shouldnt be a problem. As long as you're not responsible for long downtimes due to leaving early, then I see it as your perogative(sp?) to leave, again, so long as you find a replacement yourself and wait for them to arrive.

EDIT: I'm still laughing at BRP's and Berserk's comments and Ping's subsequent post regarding them.

I've gotten 'cheated' before ;_;

First time, (this was recently) I was lvling my RDM in Yuhtunga Jungle, and it was in-between fights, and I was resting MP. I was doing my job, if not doing the leaders job aswell. Then all of a sudden, I got kicked. So I asked him why he kicked me; heres the chat log from what I remember.

Me: Why did you kick me?
Leader: I didn't kick you, Player1 did.
/sea all Leader
Me: How is it possible for him to kick me if you still have leader
...30 seconds later
Leader: Check again
/sea all Leader
/sea all Player1

(Player1 now has leader)
Me: ....
Me: ....

Me: Hey player1, why do you have leader?
Player1: i dunno the leader gave me it
Me: Did you kick me?
Player1: No, I was wondering why the leader kicked you then he gave me leader lol >.>'

A few minutes later I get a tell from someone in the party (the person the Leader invited to replace me)

Person: I'm leaving thats very rude he kicked you
Me: :/

Then other ppl from the party left and we reformed. It turns out, the leader kicked me, blamed it on someone else, then got a new member and tried to get away with it.

Second, I was 800 tnl: at lvl 72. When I lvl, I get my adaman and koenig and all that juicy stuff (The main reason I started playing PLD). 2 members informed us 20 minutes ago that they had to go in 20 minutes for a Dynamis. Then 20 minutes later say, "We have to go now sorry.". So I say, "Come on 6 more fights, please". "We can't be late it hurts our attendance" ok I understand that part since of been to dyanmis countless times. Luckily (or so I thought) I knew the leader of the dynamis shell, so I send him a /tell, "Hey can player3245324 and player32224 be 10 minutes late for dynamis?", he replies "Sure." and a Samurai freind in the party also knew the leader of the shell and asked him, and he said sure. ok, then we tell this to them and the leader tells this to them but they decide to go anyway. Then the sam (who also had to go to dynams; making 3 ppl in the party who had to go to dynamis) has to go to and the party breaks. Thanks. Luckily though, I quickly made I new party that rocked. It was a 71-73 party and we were fighting Tough-VT dhalmels fast as hell for 7k+ /hr.

Ok, thats really wrong and the leader was a jerk...but damn thats funny. That had to have been a lot of work and forethought.

i was in this one pt in dunes. we were all xp'ing just fine, when all of a sudden, im not in the pt anymore. the pt leader just up and kicked me for no reason, and got a rep. the entire pt was so pissed that they all disbanded and reformed under me, cuz they all said i was the better player...

the pt leader's name was Lucyparty. i got an invite from her again in the kazam jungle. we xp'd for a hour, when all of a sudden, she kicked me again and got a rep with no explination why. At least that time i expected it lol...

she's jp and doesnt speak english, so i dont think she knew how to explain why she kicked me. i didnt hold a grudge and ive pt'd with her a few other times with no problems. it was still a little rude tho...

JP onry pt. ALL of the japanese in the party leveled up in Crawlers Nest that day.. Great pt in fact. I know they all ask each other TNL because I saw the letters and translations-replys from each of them. 10 mins pass and they all decided to leave. I say "1000 exp!! 1000 exp!!" "Im sorry but Ill have to pass." Pt breaks, I leave for 15 mins and I find most of them there again... [Japanese] [Party] [No thanks].

Thats one problem with other language people on the game.. get a full group of them and they might leave you without you knowing. Happens to many times to me..

Well people have to attend to things in rl or just get tired of leveling. It doesn't matter if you leveled. You got the same exp they did. They shouldn't be punished because they were closer to level then you are. You didn't get cheated.

Someone levels and immediately says he/she has to leave? How about this - why don't you leave earlier, because more than likely, you already pushed yourself beyond the restriction of your playing time on that night by sticking around to level.

I call this one word: SELFISHNESS.

Same kind of people on those G1 hunts. Immediately getting their item, regardless if it has been 1 hour or 10, they always say, "I have to go. <insert lame excuse>" Again, so why didn't you leave before this item dropped and you won the lot? Or on the previous item when you lost the lot?

I'm in agreement with Poet here. However, only partially in agreement.

If you started in the PT at the same time everyone else did, or half the other members did, you weren't exactly cheated. You may have gained more EXP in that one session compared to the new person who joined 1hour later from the start.

However, if you joined the party late, and only spent 45mins watching 4 people level up whilest you didn't get to, that's pure immature to call it "cheated."

Despite which ever scenario you fit into, it's still somewhat immature to consider this action as being "cheated." It's just like when a kid goes trick or treating with some others. Everyone else got a fullsized 100 Grand candybar but you get a mini 100 Grand candybar, because you're shorter than the rest. "Hey! I got cheated! How come they get bigger candy bars?" Well, the candy provider may have a legitemate excuse, such as portions which coincide with a trick-or-treater's body size.

Besides, this is nothing compared to what happened to me on Hades. I got asked to come to a PT in Yuhtunga with my BRD. So, I had to wait in Jeuno for the airship. After the airship ride was over and I was in Kazham replying the PT leader for an invite, he tells me they already got someone to take my place.

1. He asked me to come and I said okay, so I came.
2. He didn't tell me at any part of my arrival to Kazham about the spot being filled.
3. He doesn't think what he did is wrong.
4. No apologies from him either.
5. He's just wasted my time and GMs are useless to do anything about it.
6. GMs do not interfere with party disputes/quarrels. Some rule they have.....

Lol, what about being invited to a party and even after telling them you were about to go they insit you stay.

Had that happen once, they begged for me to stay for a drop they needed and I happened to need it. Said to stay for at least 1 drop, I did when the drop happened they let me vote on it too. Well I happened to get it and like I had been telling them I had to go, would that be shelfish? I mean hell I was telling them well before I had to go and they insisted me to stay for that one.

It isn't bullshit. If you do not count the very slight exp loss one gets for being lower level than highest level in party, you get the same exp as everyone in the group, assuming everyone was there since the beginning. It is nice to get replacement if you plan to leave early however. Stop thinking in terms of levels. Its about exp, not levels. As you get higher up, you won't level up in one or two parties.

Yeah, I leveled up in 2 parties up to like 65 so far. Though the amount it is now I'm starting to think it'll get to like 4 or 5 soon.
