A friend of mine wants to buy FFXi but doesn't have a visa or mastercard. I heard about another way of paying the fees by getting a Fianl Fantasy card but I don't know much about them. Can anyone help me?

Nope, there is no such thing as "Final Fantasy Card".

However, your friend can just go local 7/11 or mall to buy those prepaid Visa/Master card.

In a recent Q&A Session, the FFXI dev team revealed that they plan on restructuring the payment system for PlayOnline titles at the end of the year. They also stated that they're looking into offering more methods of payment, such as prepaid game cards.

We should be hearing more about it in the coming months.

Ah that's probably what I heard about then. So until and if they come out she can't sign up?

As I mentioned, she can always go to local 7/11 and mall to purchase a prepaid Visa/Master card if she want to sign up now.

It as good as the so called "Final Fantasy Card", and she can even use it any place accepting Visa/Master.

I assume you lived in US. If not, my apology.

If you lived in US, check this ou.

Or you can always go to Visa's website to see where you can get a prepaid
              Visa card near your place.

Some places in the US don't have seven elevens. Most places I lived in Ohio didn't have them. Iowa didn't, either.

Yeah we do live in the Uk and we both have the same debit card. It's Natwest Solo card and mine didn't work so I presume hers won't either. But thanks for the help and we'll look into the prepaid cards.

EDIT: Do you need to be at least 18 to have a prepaid card?

                      That's a good question.

I believed in US, certain state has regulation that require seller to check before sell it. However, lots of vendor just don't bother check it.

From the info provide on Visa website, looks like only certain bank in UK will issue prepaid Visa card. Good luck.

I realy hope they add the game cards for ffxi by christmas, I still cant belive they dont have them yet after like 3 years. Or atleast add an option to use your debit card. By the time they have ToAU ready to sell hopefully they'll have game cards avalible.

There are 7/11's in canada , (but no prepaid visa's)

You should be able to use your debit card as long as you have money in the account ;p

No that's not true. I had money in my account and it wouldn't accept my card and kept saying it wasn't visa or mastercard.
