Are the servers down?

I am having trouble connecting to ffxi. An error code of POL-1160 is showing up. Usually I just restart my computer and the problem is fixed but not this time. I need some help fast!

I had that problem since yesterday evening. Customer support explained it was a known problem with no immediate ETA. That being said I was able to connect about an hour later. They said to try again in a while if getting the error.
