Well before I lost my char I had 30 ingame days.
I had a : lvl 39DRK, 30WAR, 23 DRG, 18 BST, 18WHM, and 12RDM.
I was Rank 5 and didn't really have anything of note.

I have little time on my character now.
I have played since Oct 28 2003, like may others here I have had numerous characters.

140ish . A lot of the summer I'd just left FFXI running and would go do other stuff, I guess that's where its all coming from.

Some Stuff I Have Acomplished:
One of the things I'm most proud of is going 3/3 on Simurgh(Strider Boots) over the course of 3 days(lucky as shit, or skilled THF, you tell me? =P). Boy, was that fun. Now, I mostly just trio stuff with a couple friends(RNG+WHM). I like fighting stuff with a "minimal" approach and see how much we can get away with.

rank 5 all crafts are pretty low or nonexistent and not much else.

Items: FUll god set, Ridill, 4/5 rng af2 missing feet, 2/5 crimson, pretty much all Rare/ex equips a RNG can wear...
HNM: use to be in THewildseven until they reformed..
Money: never bought gil and never will but never been poor!!

here it goes...

Why get to a high level, or uber status in just a few? days of play time...
Sure the weapons,armor looks cool.. like the dragoons top armor...choice.
I played for almost a year,just hit lvl 24.sub 12.there are those who reach for
the hights of power,and glory...it is your right to do so..but what about a lvl
here or there,travel to all cities,towns,spend one night lvl up,and 4 to 5 traveling,
meeting new players in different cities,get into the feel of the game...it might seem
boring at first but for at least my style of game play it suits me perfect...

again not a putdown or flame.....feedback anyone....

Quick and simple response: I did it so I can help others. I was one of the first retail NA to get rank 5 on my server (about 14 of us did it at lvl 30 the second saturday of retail). Then, I could do tours for ppl in places like Castle Ozt and lead them to the Magicite. Same goes for end of Zilart and CoP missions because I continue to help ppl through those too.

A more recent example is I was one of the first ppl to get their NPC to 50, and I made a guide for others to follow my footsteps in a link in my signature.

None of that would have been possible if I weren't one of the first NAs to reach a high level (well, NPC might have been).

I personally did put in my dues, I was a Lv30THF/WAR for probably 3-4months. During that time I completed close to 200 unique quests, did my fair share of exploring, farming, and spent a lot of time seeking. That picked up cause during this time I made a good share of friends, and created a static, in which I went from 40-75 within 4 or so months. No matter how much fun the "low level days" were(and they were fun) it eventually catches up to you, and you just have to move on.

Wow, seems like the average is 100 or so hours. I can see now how adicting this game is and how long I probably will be playing. Anyone over the 300 mark?
