Help on the expansion.

I'm trying to get back to playing FFXI, and all the expansions around here are sold out for the Ps2.. I was just wanting to know if I could manage a few weeks without the expansion? Or is it a MUST that I need? I doubt i'll get to a high enough lvl to where I can go explore new places and get new weapons.. And this may be the wrong place to put this, but I just need some help to hold me off till I get the expansion.. Thanks

You don't need CoP right away so don't worry about it. You'll be fine. ^^

If you can't find it locally, I know www.amazon.com had them in stock 2 days ago.

Not having the expansion probably won't hinder you at all for months. You won't have access to the expansion areas, but those aren't used for experience parties afaik up to 50. If you want any of the new expansion items, you will have the ability to buy them from the auction house (unless they're Ex), you just won't be able to quest for them yourself.

Several online stores have them. That's what I had to do because all the stores in my area stopped carrying the PS2 FFXI and CoP due to the new PS2 not supporting the HDD. I play on PC though so it doesn't really matter, I just got it for grins and those few times I feel like playing on my PS2. Already had the PS2 FFXI for its hard drive, anyway.

lionx was the one who pointed me to KBtoys. He said he found the link on playonline's webpage. I ordered mine there about two weeks ago, and went with the FREE shipping and it took about a week for me to get it.

I've had the expansion pack for a week now, and I've yet to go to any of the new areas. So you won't need it right away.

I just bought CoP of ebay yesterday only cause it was kinda cheap ($25 can(with shipping(and tax))), but I probably dint need it.

its new, sealed and canadian version (sold in canada so im guessing thats why no one else bid)(yay for canadian ebay auctions lol)

Just a quick thing from me, maybe I should start a new thread so lemme know if I'm wrong...

I got the UK version that had POL, TM, FFXI/CoP/RoZ all in one package (not collection)

Do i simply shove the expansion disks in the drive and let it get on with it? Or do I have to run something from within POL or FFXI?

yeah, you should be able to just install from disk.

Not that I'll reeeeeeeaaaaay need it... As I said, I'm gonner start again tomorrow, or maybe today, dunno know where clock is >.< :p
