Need ideas to convince dad that credit cards are safe to pay for FFXI

Just got the game but I have to convince my dad that it is safe to use a credit card to pay for ffxi, I would get a credit card my self but I am not over the age of majority and there is no visa/mastercard debit cards in canada so thats not an option.

Any help would be greatly apreciated.

well ive been playing since first day of release and have not had any problems with my credits card. my lil bro plays as well and no problems there. if hes really worried about it, its simple enuff to open a seperate account. just make sure and keep enough money in it so there is no interuption of your service. just need an account with a debit card.

I thought the only debit cards ffxi will accept were the visa or mastercard debit cards which are not avalible in canada. Would a regular debit card work cause i may be able to get one of those.

Ok im going to try that, I need to set up a bank account but that should of been done a while ago i guess. Il cost like $2.5CAN per transfer but i guess if its the only way to play its ok.

has anyone used epassporte.com? I just want some opinions so i dont get screwed .

Have you tried Visa Buxx? It's sort of a debit card for kids that parents can put a certain amount of money on for you to spend. I loved it when I was too young to open a bank account, I'd have my parents put some clothes money on there and off I went to the mall without having to handle cash or anything.

It's visabuxx.com and I'm not sure if they operate in Canada. It costs a static fee to add money to the card so make sure you add it in fairly large amounts(depending on how long you plan to play) or have your parents dump your entire year's allowance on it or something. Whatever fits.

I searched visa.ca with google and the visa's search and there is no visa buxx avalible in canada, thanks anyways.

Give him the info on Squaresoft...one of the most succesfull video game company's ever, has been around since the early 90's (or maybe 80's), this game has MILLIONs of subscribers from countries all over the world...if they were stealing people's money then I don't think this would be possible.

You may want to have him call the 1-800 number and speak with someone for himself. If its putting credit card info in general on the internet you may see about giving the info over the phone (dont know if this is possible, but worth a shot) he may go for that instead. I dont think I've ever heard of fraudulent charges or anything of the sort with this game. Some people are just paranoid though (and have a right to be with all the identity theft stuff going on lately). Good luck, hope you get to play.

Ok i just came back from the bank to do the epassorte "virtual credit card method", il cost me $12 just to send the money to the account needed to load the card, so thats not going to be good everytime im going to send over(i have non dependable income ), Im just going to have to nag my dad again and i will show him this thread and hopefuly he will let me use it.
