Is this game still worth playing?

Well 4 Level 60's later WoW is becoming a bit boring. So its got me thinking, should I come back to FFXI? Anything new been added? Any plans for future expansions? Would it be worth it for me to come back and start from scratch? Would love some input.

they're planning an expantion near christmas & its comming out on XBox360. & starting from scratch can be fun =P.

I've been browsing the fourms and before I quit I was a RNG, they got nerfed big time? Are they still playable? Can a experienced RNG give me some input?

the game is still worth playing. when did you quit? before CoP? if so, you have all of chains of promathia to do, in addition to the original missions for each nation and rise of the ziliart. not to mention new quests being added with almost every other update. as far as rng goes, your not gonna get much help on that. they're all gonna tell you they were nerfed, but they still do great damage. all they did was change the effective distance for damage and accuracy so there is no "sweet" spot. play whatever job fits you best, regardless of trend or whatever anyone else tells you.

I wouldn't be so quick as to say "Christmas."

Final Fantasy XI for Xbox 360 was originally planned for a release by the end of the year, and it is rumoured that the game will include the next expansion pack, which has been in development as long as Chains of Promathia has been. Beta testing for FFXI X360 will most likely begin when the console is launched this Winter, so a release window in February-April sounds more likely for the port.

Like I've said before: if the grinding and party-based EXP system was what got out of FFXI the first time, don't look for anything new in that department if you're thinking about coming back. There's slightly less EXP required in the higher end levels, you can now duo with your very own NPC buddy, and EXP and Chaining has been tweaked slightly in general, but FFXI is still very tough to get to the top in by MMO standards.

Hehe, so true. So, don't think that just because they said it's going on that time, stil be skeptical on how it's going to be.

FFXi is worth coming back to ;; but I can't say what the difference is between what i'm playing now and what you're playing back then :\

There's a really nice "Search" button up there that you can use to find anything you feel the need to know.

Yeah, FFXI is totally worth going back to. I just had a year long break myself. Once I logged back on again, I've been totally hooked ever since.
