Re: China blocks online gamers from playing for more than 3 consecutive hours

One day i played with FFXI for 14 hours..... from 9 pm of saturday until 11 am of sunday......
by the way i don't think japanese would do such a stupid thing. less playing hours means less players online. I usually make 2 levels in 3 hours, but doing ONLY 3 levels and then logging off it's boring. Plus if you are on a damned long mission like phomiuna aqueducts or some promyvion or dynamis or camping NM you can't get worried about the time, you should be able to play as long as you want
    Signature, ah!

I agree, theory is just that, theory. What we believe to be democracy or communism may work in theory, but only in theory will it work. We're humans afterall aren't we? We're imperfect people trying to live by a perfect outline.

This is why I love the Bible. Most people think it's just some dumb book with no real worth or meaning, but they're wrong. You shouldn't live exactly by the bible, but take it's teachings and live by them in reflection.

      I've gone off topic! =/

True, but in this case, not exactly right.

We just like the names, but don't like what they do. For instance sweden can be consider much more free then US, and earily USSR was much more communist then China, etc.

Today, US is a Capitalist, bi-partisan, and if you map out the politics, somewhat hierarchy system. We have the Patriot Act, the DCMA, the Bush vs Gore saga, etc.

China is a mix of dictatorship, capitalist, communist. They have some communist ideals such as all government own production plants, but at same time promote competitive market ideals in other areas.

With differences here and there US and China have a lot of similarities. This could be attributed to the fact that they are effective or the fact that we've become currupted...Take your pick, depending how much you antagonize politics.

I don't think it's a matter of not living up to theory, rather, we choose not to. For better or worse.

It's harsh, but it's better then lashing out randomly. You have to know who your enemy is, so to say. =p

If you guys notice, FFXI isn't even mentioned in the article. I don't think FFXI will be affected.

Yea, i know ige is ran by americans, it just makes sense. Like they say in movies, there's always some fat, rich, white guy behind all evil(ige)

As for my post, I wasnt trying to say BLAME CHINA! at all, what i was trying to get at was that we might see a decrease in gil sellers in game if something like this is completely implemented.

If this is true, expect to see gil/gold/whatever currency farmer numbers skyrocket. If this is confined to China's servers, they simply won't play on their servers. They will play wherever else they can get away with.

if they pully implement this, the timers and retrictions will be build into the software, not the server, so it would count on all servers, also they will probable not allow the import of other versions of the same games into China, but of course that wont stop some :p

Depends on the game. For FFXI, mostly yes (not macros tho). For other games it varies.
