Search is good, but do we really need "check"?

In my travels around Vana'diel, I'll stop and both battle, and chat
on occasion i'll do a search to see who is out there,
but more often than not, a player will run past and do a "xxxx examines you"
is that really needed? i've been playing for about a year
can rember doing a check once,most of the time i talk to the player
to find out the lvl,abilities,and such,
I guess i feel guilty about seeing what a player is, has.
why don't they just ask?

*summarizes responses: I check because I can. If they didn't want the feature in there why did they put it in. If you don't like it then turn on your filter. I'm not asking every tom dick and harry what equips they are wearing or what lvl they are so I check.*

I know I left some out but that about covers it.

Well if you want to know then probably want to look at this thread for much of the debate about it. Other then that with the games setup you kind of have to check if you are going to look at their bazaar.
