PS2 controller -help

    PS2 controller -help

    I am using an adapter and a PS2 controller in my USB thing. The controller responds and works in everything except FFXI, do I have to set the game up to use the controller?

    yes i believe so. there is an option under config somewhere... (don't use a controler myself, sorry can't be of more help)

      yeah, you have to activate it under the config screen... should be on the first screen that pops up. click on game pad settings... then in the top right corner there will be a checkbox that says "enable gamepad". oh yeah... and make sure calibrate it so all your directionals are right. mine were off at first.

        Start >>> Programs >>> PlayOnline >>> Final Fantasy XI >>> Final Fantasy XI Config >>> First tab (General) >>> Gamepad Settings button >>> choose the buttons on the gamepad that you want to control in game and do NOT forget to Test Gamepad (button on lower right side) Or you can just use some of the default settings but do NOT forget to Test Gamepad

            I can't imagine that they did away with the gamepad config for the PC version so it has to be in there somewhere. Dig around and see what you can find.

              well... i know for me the controller doesn't work in POL just in-game...

                POL config is seperate than FFXI config.

                  hmm you have to look around for the config file for ffxi. anyone who can help me with the gamepad? i log into the game and then my character goes mental and runs about and moves the camera on its own..

                    This happens to me too. All you have to do is hit the analog button so its off and then just rotate your joysticks around a bit. Then turn it back on and you should be fine.

                      try unplugging it and then pluggin it back in, it might help

                        you don't log in to find the config, it's another program...

                        it should be in the same start menu folder as playonline...

                        just test all the buttons once you have it configured... like i have my d-pad for the menus, left analog stick for movement and the right for the camera angle...

                        mines not the ps2 controller though, i just bought a logitech one
