Right ive more or less just started out playing this game but im @ lvl16 war already.

I have the xp but i am totally skint and really need a new weapon. So i thought about selling some lumber, what is the best way to go about this? I already got a hatchet and got a logging point. I got some ash wood but i heard the best way to sell would be in stacks - How do i MAKE a stack from the wood? How would i get the most from selling the wood?

Im in SanDoria if that makes a diffrence

Logging's related craft is Woodworking. You need to join the Carpenter's Guild and develop your woodworking skill in order to make any sort of money at logging (otherwise you're going to run out of inventory space in a screaming hurry, as logs don't stack).

If you choose to do this, be aware that you're actually going to lose quite a bit of money in the short run, as turning logs into lumber via woodworking requires wind crystals. While there is a key item available once you reach level 28 woodworking (Lumberjack) which improves the efficiency of your lumber crafting, that's quite a ways down the road for you, and until then I'd be amazed if you did anything better than break even.

Also note: Do not turn elm logs into lumber if you're in San d'Oria and logging in Fort Ghelsba. The logs sell better unprocessed due to the requirement for them for making shihei.

        Re: Logging

Like most people are probably thinking, fighting Orcs and maybe Fungars for their crystals will yield good results for the lower levels until you are strong enough to farm better monsters(and move up the money making ladder there). Stacks of crystals on midgard sell for 5-7K for fires...i havent checked Dark but should either be similar or higher.

How do i "stack" items? Would the best place to sell the crystals be in the AH?

Thanks for you help in advance

            Re: Logging

Um open your items menu and press + on the keypad(if you play PC) or whatever symbol it is for auto sorting items on the top right hand corner of the screen. Auto-sort, it will stack and organize your items neatly.

The AH is best way to do this, check its price history and try to maybe put a few gil under the price to make it sell faster, and go back out to farm more. The AH is pretty much the only way to get things sold unless you dont have a full stack and is able to go AFK bazaaring crystals.

When i organise the items i know it adds them together (srry for the stupid questions!)
So when i have 12 i can sell them all at once in a bundle? true or false!

                Re: Logging

Yes you can only sell items in singles, or in stacks of 12 or 99.

Ash Wood doesn't stack. Not all items stack. All the wood that you get from Logging won't stack. You can craft the wood into lumber and lumber stacks.

One thing I used to do was have mules in other cities, and sell things in X city auctionhouse that I can buy for dirt cheap in Y city's NPC vendors...

Works great if you know the locations of the city's NPC vendors and NPC regional vendors.

Yes. Additional characters cost $1.00 per month.

I never really liked the whole " Pay an extra $$ for more content I.Ds".

But I suppose they need it to break even.
