Q. what server is the cam looking at

A. the Atomos(Test Server)


Q. how does the cam fly and get the video and stuff....

A. Square has a special Client (like the GM's) in which it feeds on. the camera ingame is invisible and is called VanLiveCam01 (yes thier are more than one camera) cant be targeted cant be /befriend cant be check cant be /telled


Q. accurate representation of population?

A. no it isnt accurate rep of the population because it shows limited areas and the Atomos (Test Server) is for SE and a few select Beta Testers play at (avg of 500 players online) (500 testers!! o.o)

just to say a little more about atomos it is a server not regularly accessible but u can create a new charater and get on their but only if SE needs more testers World Passes cant be bought on thier ethier T_T (i have one charater on thier besides my GM which can just //server <servername> but thats beside the point *off~topic*) so if you want on thier get another contant id can try getting once in a while it may work goodluck everyone

All of your information is false according to truenoir...

The live cam rotates through servers and follows only a preset path. Not everywhere it goes is particularly scenic or populated. Plus it only snaps a picture every few seconds. So if it say, runs past you, you'll only show up for a couple pictures or so. Take into account lag in drawing in players in crowded areas, and you can easily see how the world might look sparse.

If you see it, it's a Taru named like Chumimi or something like that, and has a special icon. We had lots of fun with it when it rotated through to Pandy. There's like a 5-10 sec delay on the images too before they pop up on the site.

No, the Taru that runs around *is* the camera. I've watched it on my laptop as it ran by me in-game on my desktop several times on the same path. Others in my LS did the same. The uploaded shots corresponded to exactly where it ran.

There's a point where it can break off and do sky shots and all, but most of it is the PoV of that Taru running around its preset path. It also can run through doors, and at points of the cycle will port into new areas. It doesn't fully follow the rules that players do, but isn't invisible either.

i highly dout a taru flying around is the cam... because SE does to the GMs (hides them so no one knows thier around and see thier name) so y would they have a taru cam so players would camp it and go nuts in front of it. also it does go a preset path (sorry if i confused people on that)
