You could head to the marshands. There you will find many mobs that drop pretty pricey items. leeches - beastman blood, goobdues - tree cuttings, moss, crawlers -silk thread to name a few.

    edit: fixed the leech drop

Depends on server but many low level things are very hot right now due to the fact many people stopped farming leaving a hungry market for "grunts" or players that don't try to go for the "big $$$ like trying for peacocks."

              Try the highlands or tangogi

Beechips, honey, elemental clusters, silk, beastmen drops etc will all bring in gil. Nothing big, but just as profitable.

Your only real limitation is your AH space. In which case undercut is an option...
some people have the "Never undercut" mentality because they don't want to lower their own future income, but not only is this bad economic wize, one of the key elements you learn in business is inventory can be just as costly as gil, so see where your piorities are.

I never understood why people undercut. Most AH buyers I've seen do not attempt to purchase from a price lower than the Price History listings...

Re: How to farm at lvl 30

Umm... because the items sell faster if you price them lower. For instance, my character is drowning in Brain Stew from leveling cooking recently. It's taking up a ton of my inventory and making it difficult for me to craft other money synths, so just keeping the unstackable stew in my inventory and/or having them pile up in my auction slots is costing me potential earnings. So the economic thing for me to do is to lower my asking price, possibly even below the profit line compared to the ingredients, to free up my AH bandwidth for more profitable synths. It doesn't make sense at face value, but you can actually make more money by taking a loss.

You mean if there 5 of X swords , and 4 for them are priced at 10,000 gil and one of them is priced at 8,000 gil...It will sell before the other 4 even if someone bids 10,000 gil?

Yup. That's how the AH system works. Whoever has the lowest asking price will get the first sale, regardless of how much more was bid. So if you put an item up for 1 gil, you will get the next sale (assuming someone didn't do the same thing just before you). Of course, doing so opens you up to undercutting buyers who try to get items for less than the listed price. That's how prices shift. The price settles in the area where the greed of the sellers and the buyers balances out.

You'll be surprised at the number of players that don't now.

No. I was under the impression that the Auction House system was primarily chronologically based, and not on gil prices.

If you've been playing the game awhile, you take for granted how much of it is undocumented. I just had to tell my newbie friend that those blue crystals are home points.
