Playing on the Ps2

Ok i have a question for you ps2 players.

Is it bad as i here from pc players that playing on the ps2 is diffrent?

i alwase been playing at a friends house on his pc, because i dont ahve a good enough pc to run final.. so i was gonna get it on ps2.. so.. pritty much can u tell me whats diffrent about it?

and could u buy a keyboard for the ps2 like u could for dreamcast, and xbox?

I like my PS2 version, i use regular computer USB keyboard, and the PS2 controller. Still use the PS2 version from long time ago to play, even now.

PC version runs higher resolution and potential for better graphics depending on your video card and comp setup.

I guess downside of PS2 would be the lower resolution, but everything's layed out perfectly, so you have everything needed on the screen.

I play on either of them, and I can't really say I prefer one over the other.

Yeah, just what has been stated is what the PC has going for it (Without breaking the ToS) is mostly just graphic resolution. Performance wise and all the PS2 is more likely to do better then the majority of PCs.

The PS2 will still do graphic displays like a PC can. The PS2 also has all of it's TnL set to near max with all weather effects on, something that'll usually force a PC down to similar resolution as the PS2 to run all those effects anyways.

Pretty much the only big thing is the resolution difference.

Also the keyboard seems to be kinda laggy on the PS2 version.

I personally have a hard time getting myself to play on PS2 sometimes. Especially when I am pulling or dodging mobs. (Since PC's higher res allows you to see more area and see it clearer.)

I have both but my PS2 version gets little use.

I have also played on ps2 and on comp and like a good majoirity of the people i like the comp version much better due to the graphic resilution. True with most normal video cards it would look alot like it does when you play on a ps2 but with my video card i can max out all the resilutions and it still runs perfect. So I think that as long as u dont really mind a lower quality picture the ps2 and comp are basically the same.

I was a PS2 beta tester, and I still play on PS2. The only reason I want to play on the PC is the higher resolution. I like the way that looks.

Outside of that, the graphics for the PS2 are good enough for me.

we play on ps2's and we love it, it does have kinda bad resolution but it works, tho we are dyin to try it out on the xbox 360 this fall ^^ and i believe tho i could be wrong that the hard drives for the ps2 are no longer available so if you can wait for the 360 it would be more beneficial

You can still get the Hard drives, just since FFXI isn't so new it isn't as easy to locate.
