the only way to tell is to get people on different servers to all do /sea all at a few syncronized times over a few days. or ask S-E other than that no one knows

Who knows ? It can fluctuate.

I used to think that my server had only 2200-2800 people at any given time. Until I once did a /sea all and 4000+ people showed up. And then once 5000+ people. Heh.

Not only would it take too much effort to answer the question, there's no point in asking it in the first place. You can't choose your server unless you have a friend there to help you, and if you have someone to buy you a pass to their server then you probably want to play there regardless of the generic popularity of the server.

I'll have to look to see if it's still there but in the information section in the POL there is a census that gives info of how many are on each server. It's very even across the board when I last saw it. Though play times on each for their peaks tended to varry slightly.

I checked the 5th census a minute ago and I didn't see any information regarding population difference from server to server. Just logins over time across the board. Link: http://www.playonline.com/ff11us/event/survey/

I /sea all the time to see the scale of certain job vs certain job, or race vs race, or nation vs nation, not like I'm gonna change anything if the job/race/nation is overcrowded or whatnot, just something I'd like to know for fun, that's all.

Anyway, I have seen around 3k people at most on Remora, but that's around the NA clock, so not sure how many at JP time, or JP/NA mixed time.

Heh, sometimes I /sea jobs to see what the most common SJ for a certain job is. Also Task Mage I don't see the point of you posting that there is no point to this. What is the point of that? I am makeing another charcter, and i want to be on a popular server. Also I am a bit curious.

Ugh >.< See? It is to choose a server.

And I think my point still stands. There's no good way to find out, and even if you could you can't choose a specific server without a friend to help you, in which case you'd want to be on that server anyway unless you were just interested in being in a place with more strangers and no friends, which is silly. At any rate, the way the servers are load balanced, I doubt any server has a markedly higher population than any other.

I was not talking about the census from the PlayOnline.com I ment the POL system. It use to have a more in-depth census then what you get there.
