Re: Armor - How can you tell?
Not really. It shows the picture, and gives you an idea about what it looks like, but it's basically one size fits all. So you'll looking at armor, and it will look like that on an Elvaan or a Hume, but it's obviously going to be too small for a Galka and far too large for a Tarutaru.
But you can usually find somebody that's wearing it, to give you an idea. You could of coure buy it and then put it back up for auction if ya didn't like it. lol Not a very efficient way of doing things, but it's a way.Odude

Re: Armor - How can you tell?
Well, the short and blunt answer is that you can't. Not entirely anyway. Each item, including armor pieces, have an icon representing their look. With this, you can get some idea of what the piece looks like, but you won't really know what it looks like on your own character. However, they do have what's known as a "Model Viewer" available for download. Using this program, you can select your character's look (race, gender, and face type), and put armor pieces on them (for all armor and weapon slots) in order to view what your character would look like wearing the piece. I can't even remember where I got my own model viewer, else I'd help you out for finding one, but googling "FFXI model viewer" should bring you to one.Kailo(Elvaan):[75DRK], [37THF], 37WAR, 37SAM, 37RDM, 37NIN

Artifact Armor.
Efficient? Yeah
Fashionable? Hell yes.
Of course, most armor will look good, no matter what it is. Just as long as you keep it within the same set. Mixing Iron Musketeer's Armor with Royal Knights armor isn't my idea of good looking.

That isn't to say there's not room for fashion... but some AF pieces just totally blow and have no real advantage for the class in question. But I definitely understand a male Monk wearing no-stat pants instead of Republic Subligar until Byakko's Haidate or whatever.

Generally there are a number of styles, and there is a small icon in the item description.
Answers a lot of questions, heh.Last edited by Fockr; 08-11-2005, 03:47 PM.
