I'm getting back into FFXI! 5 questions.

Hello there,

My friend recently called me and told me he wants to play FFXI again. After that he sparked something in me to have a sudden urge to play, see the thing is I got bored of how long this game took, and how it could use up alot of time. So I gave up, I didn't get that far but I gave up. I have a few questions because I stopped playing way before the recent updates.

question 1: Is it easier to lvl? (I heard there are more mobs and you gain exp faster)

question 2: Is there added content that totally changed things?

question 3: Ballista was revamped?

question 4: Should I still join, or is it the same old thing..?

question 5: I still have an account I just cancelled payment for a character. If I resume play will I get him back? and do I need to go through credit card stuff again, or its saved?

1. no. still same old partying. they eased the xp requirement tnl after 50 but that's about it.

2. err not from what i see.

4. well, it still takes a long time for everything so if that's what turned you off the first time...

5. you character "might" be still around, but they delete stuff after 3 months of inactivity. your CC info is saved though.

dunno, don't play Ballista. however, you now can get some xp from ballista matches.

The basic concept of Ballista is the same, but it's all made to flow smoother and be more fun in general. There's lots more items you can dig up and use, camps move depending on the size of the match, and you even gain EXP. You can also gain Ballista Points for special rewards and titles. With 200 Ballista points, you can reserve a match of Ballista for you and your friends, or for everyone. The match takes place in the new Diorama Abdjhalis Ghelbsa area, and it's tons of fun.

If you cancelled your content id they now save them for ONE YEAR. It is not just for 3 months anymore. They changed in back in October of 2004. A playonline tech support guy told me this and sure enough my characters which I had cancelled 6 months ago were waiting for me when I renenwed yesterday.

If you canceled just your Content ID(s) then you can bring 1 character back, I think.

No you can bring ALL your characters back. I cancelled all 3 of my characters (main and 2 mules) and renewed all 3 because my gear was spread out amongst them all. Also if you cancelled last year AFTER October you probably would be able to renew them. Just load up POL and click on renew content id's, once you've logged on it will provide you with a list of all your id's that can be renewed. Hope that helps and that you can revive your characters. If I had to start from scratch I would have just said f___ it, lol.
