As with anything though, max base exp isn't everything. Depending on your job and level it may not be a given that you can reach max kills on max exp targets before the time limit. If you can't, go with the strongest thing you can kill in under 3 minutes. That should have you reaching max kills just before your NPC leaves on time. If you need a timer, cast Blaze Spikes before each fight. If you win before it wears, that was less than 3 minutes.

Try not to lvl npc by yourself. It's always more fun with more ppl. ^^

I'm a rdm. I have a soloing fetish.
I'm going to have to start partying before long though. I don't think I know anyone else with a high level NPC though.

They don't have to be similar levels. Npcs aren't like our characters. They get xp based off solo xp, not partied. I pt with a 75 blm who has a lvl 47 np. Mine is 62. His npc gets a level every other call just lke mine did when I xped with similarly levelled NPCs.

I defeated Mirror Images as THF/NIN with my NPC set to Soothing Healer (least likely to pull hate from me). Vassago had basically no ability to hit me at all... I lost the first time (NPC died) because I couldn't hold hate. The second time, I saved SA for when my NPC took hate and won without a problem.

fastcart, are you still leveling your NPC? I might be interested in getting together an NPC exp party (mine's LV57).

That depends on a lot of things. What type of weapon is your NPC using now? What is her level and style? What type of weapon are you usually using when you use her?
