  • Re: How to raise your NPC buddy

Hmm, Zempten do you have any macro's used to target your NPC? Was the time they left near when the time they stay expires (45 min. at first and 55 once you get 20 kill limit)? Can't read the text on the image so would have to ask you if there was any message they gave you and what was it.

my NPC armed with katana used meditate(without actually showing it)! Used two WSes within the same 8 second period to chain with me.

        The NPC said something like

        Something like I'm exhausted
        "No more fighting for me"

        "Must be going
        Take care of yourself"

No macros to target my NPC
No, it always just takes me under 20 mins to kill 15 - 20 mobs.

        Do you think that photoshop is just a bad host for pictures? Maybe I should try another? I don't know any other free hosting picutre sites ; ;

"No more fighting for me" Means the npc met it's kill limit as according to Fellowship NPC dialogue. Maybe you miss-counted your kills? I do all the time.

I'm sorry, maybe I was being unclear. The problem IS NOT the NPC leaving because of the killl limit, but BECAUSE it left in the MIDDLE of the goblin's HP.

Thanks Solid, I'll try and see if it'll work. Pictures are MUCH better then my explanations ^^

Perhaps you had reached the time limit for your NPC? That is the only explanation I can think of for your NPC to leave mid fight.

Woot!! My npc hit lvl 50 today. Here's a pic:

Full War AF! Maybe this is because he used a Great Axe ever since his fourth call… Nah… It's likely due to another reason. Okay, okay. I'll stop playing. If you really want to read about the true gear he got today, then you better click here. ^^

                      Just FYI:

My NPC has wielded a polearm since my first weapon trade prompt. When I got my first job change prompt, I switched to healer for two calls, then attacker (it's been on attacker ever since).

I just received my second weapon trade prompt, and Luto did, in fact, ask me for an upgraded "weapon or shield".

That could be it but the only way still it would leave in the middle of a fight would be if he had more then 1 monster he was battling, it's leave is not delayed long enough to get to the middle of a fight let alone reach the next monster after their kill limit. The most logical seem to be a latency somewere with it saving data like fastcart said.

Otherwise if it isn't that the only other way they'd leave mid fight that I know is if the time for them has expired. If it happens again maybe take a look at the time left on the pearl, I don't know if had lost time or not but I did have an experience were 20 kills I thought only took me 25 min. and my pearl for some reason said 45 min.

It's worth keeping track of to see if maybe something odd is going on with it timer, that's what I'm planning to do my next call to see. If the timer is goofing up then who knows what else is, it can be some of these oddities is a glitch somewere in it's timer/counter.

Okay, I found out what was wrong.

                            http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...pi-chatlog.jpg

In the first one, notice in the first one that she has disappeared and notice the current mobs HP

In the second, notice how she left after I had gotten the 33 gil.

The thing is I am in a PT with another member, she was fighting something completely else as me and my NPC were fighting that goblin with only 50% HP left.

For the second one, your pt member killed something and that met your npc's kill limit. I can't tell anything from the 1st screenshot because there's not enuf info in the log. if the 1st and 2nd screenshots are from the same log (they seem to be or it's a hell of a coincidence), then what I just stated is your answer.
