  • Re: How to raise your NPC buddy

25 days, 36 calls, and lvl 46. I got nothing after headgear. Maybe when it reaches 50? Getting genkai items would be be a pain. I hope SE doesn't make up go thru that again.

Ok, followed up my theory today while leveling up my npc with my fiance's, both took alot of damage, but mine was the only one to really upgrade. Perhaps your 'Style' has somthing to do with it too... Healer Style taking magical damage upping Mage gear, while Attacker Style taking Physical Damge upps physical gear... cause that seems to be what was happening.

Raka is now wearing Darksteel Body Armor with Scale Gloves and leggings, the greves look like they are form Vagabonds set though, but at least they upgraded some (From default mithran feet) She still as good as ever with her single Katana, but she hasent had a shield sence I gave her a Great Katana beforehand...

SE probably has a surprise for people with npcs that hit L50, I'm waiting on you pioneers to find out. =3 (I'm all the way back at L35 attack-type, using second great katana.)

Yea, surely they didn't leave us hanging at 40~ with nothing to do anymore on NPC's other than level them. I definitely foresee quests regarding expansion of your NPCs in the future, but even without the future updates, I'm sure there's still tons more opportunities to upgrade weapons and who knows what else later on. Would kinda suck to have a Lv 75 NPC still using a Lv 8 GKT D:

This is the armor she was wearing before I set out today. No major changes to her after today, cept her feet upgraded to scale set again. (She diddent take as much damage this time around as usually...)

She took minimal damage and got a minimal upgrade, but so far my theory is sound. The more the get damaged, the more they upgrade.

I wonder how this applies to Shield Styles? Mine is attacker, and I have no intentions on changing it anytime soon.

My Attacker with Great Katana did two WSes within the same 6-7 seconds. Did WS, then I did miss chain window, then he followed up and we SCed. I have SS to prove it.

Just FYI, you can have your NPC out in a full party. I'm not sure if this has been explained before, but as long as only 5 other people in your party/alliance are in the same zone as you they're callable. Once that sixth member steps in they'll disappear. They're great for temporary members while waiting for a replacement.

He means as long as the 6th member that's already in the party isn't in the same map as the other 5, the NPC can stay out. But once the 6th member zones into the map the party is in, the NPC will disappear.

major outch on the armor, she downgraded her body back to mithran default after dinging 34, but I got the weapon upgrade. I'm still not sure whats effecting her armor now though... I wish SE woudl releace some informaiton as how to upgrade that...

I think the NPC becomes a SAM if you trade a Great Katana and set it at attacker type. With Meditate.

I believe they did release info saying that if you fight mobs that are closer to your NPC's level, the armor will upgrade as opposed to if you fight mobs that are ridiculously high leveled compared to your NPC, the armor will downgrade. I might have just heard that from someone else, but I'm pretty sure its accurate cuz my NPC goes all the way back to Lv 1 stuff if I just nuke through a buncha high Lv mobs real fast.

Well my npc is lvl 35 and I fight in the Uleguerand Range. (EP at 75) He has consistantly wore the same body piece and the past 2 times the same legs and feet. So no downgrades here.

Mine upgrades and retrogrades despite fighting the same mobs for days. Random here.
