  • Re: How to raise your NPC buddy

When Fastcart posts, he can probably tell you his count for getting the headgear option. Here is the link to his NPC page. If you go to the bottom section you'll see what the option says and what headgear Mugido decided to wear. LOL

I counted. Mine got the headgear option after his 20th call after he reached lvl 38. But 3 of those calls were bust. First, we only got 300 xp. Second, I dced right at the beginning of the first fight. Third, my pt wiped due to my idiocy with only one kill. So, whether you want to say 17 or 20 calls (or some where in between) is up to you.

As of today, I've called my npc 22 times total including the busts.

Edit: I posted the screenshots of the headgear option and what he wears. When I try to change his headgear piece, I couldn't tell whether he had a hairpin or nothing again. So, I put it back to Faceguard.

I got the headgear option today and mine switched into what I'm assuming is a blue ribbon. If I tell her to change it again it goes back to nothing or something invisible.

Yes as far as I can tell, you just choose whethere your NPC will have headgear or not. The NPC chooses which headgear.

Wow after tonight's maintenance it's going to be tough

-When asking for a new signal pearl, the relationship between a player and a Fellowship NPC will now worsen slightly.
                  - After certain conditions are met, players will be able to keep their Fellowship NPC around for extended adventuring.

                    All of them are interesting...

                    - The behavior of Fellowship NPCs has been adjusted.
                    - Fellowship NPCs will now disappear after defeating a predetermined number of enemies even if the NPC remains in battle mode.
                    - Signal pearls will now fail to activate when the number of members and Fellowship NPCs in a party totals six or more.
                    - An issue wherein the special properties of certain equipment intended to affect a player's wyvern or avatar extended to Fellowship NPCs has been addressed.

Props to those who stood in line and got the most use out of the double use exping trick. Now if we just knew what 'worse relationship' actually did. Maybe it is still worthwhile to drop the pearls for 2x exp.

like a flirting sim where your NPC can actually hate or like you o.O
It means we can still throw our pearl and get new one. But what will happen will the NPC hates us I wonder.

That's no different. I've had my NPC ditch out mid-fight before, half way through a fight with a Demon Wizard "Oh, its late. I got to go" and poof, they're gone. Charming.

i think what this means is you can't get XP for 16-20 monsters by killing them all at once

I think an important question is how we can improve our relationship with them. And what effect their relationship has on gameplay.

Soooo, who wants to throw away their pearl a few times to find out? :-)
