Anyway, so I too have a Yoli (Popular I guess) I killed about 12 or so gobbies in East Altepa before she said she felt it was a fruitful day and bailed out on me. I talked to her later in Ru'Lude and she said she was level 30 with shield style. I didn't see any change in EQ. Is there a way to lend her my own equipment >.> or maybe give her gils ... lol.

I really don't think armor is any definitive answer to the power of your npc.

NPC doesn't seem to follow the same rules as we the players.

After all when do you see a lvl30 player hiting on a lvl 42crawler for good damage even?

And I think any scale(lvl10) wearing player would get hit way harder then what they should be getting hit for.

I think eq is more for looks then for stats...they're some relation but not exact.

My NPC got her first armor update, she is now wearing Mercenary Doublet, and Garish pumps.

Crap! I just launched the model viewer to make a saved set of her and it seems broke!**** Ok some how the path was lost but I rest it.

Lets all take screen shots to document the Armor upgrades, I know I talked to here about reporting MP before I could even change her job to anything other than shield and on her 1st armor upgrade she is wearing Garish pumps.

Rendezvous Points: You can find these points in each of the main cities. Use these points to summon your NPC to discuss battle tactics and your previous adventures. These points can be found in:
Ru'Lude Gardens (G-10)
Northern San d'Oria (L-10) Just out side the Mog House.

NPC at first will randomly use fast blade / burning blade / red lotus / flat blade and you can create skillchain following their WS.

Kalokoko totally burned your Shining Strike. The only times mine has used a weapon skill was at a random point, once right as I used mine, and another seemingly random time. I think I asked her to announce her weapon skills, but I'm not sure.

Also, stop choosing Yoli people! I was here first!

Anyone noticed they seem to have capped skills? Mine seemed to have an incredible parry rate when she took hate.

Is it possible that the NPC leaves based on how much EXP it has earned, rather than the # of mobs killed?

If you take your NPC and kill very low level mobs, does it still leave after 10-20 kills, or does it stay around until the time limit?

I haven't even done the quest so I'm just guessing here.

NPC leaves after 12-15 kills it seems, no matter how much EXP gained.

75 SMN, level 30 NPC, i killed about 15 monsters in eastern altepa (all Too Weak to me). he left after about 15 kills. i only used fenrir - i didn't attack so the NPC buddy just stood next to me. he said it was a fruitful day and when i went to town i could pick a new mode.

so i take it from this he doesnt even have to engage the monster at all, he can just leech off you killing Too Weak.

has anyone tried to have an alliance of people with them?

has anyone tried playing a low level job (like level 5) - does the NPC own everything? does the NPC wear different low level gear? does the NPC still leave after 12-15 kills?

on my SAM10 my NPC was outdamaging me.


Which says alot considering I had nearly capped GKtn using a tachi, compared to the NPC using a *sword* and still doing more per hit, hitting more often, and with better accuracy ><!


And yep, only stayed for 12-15 mobs ;-;

I want to take my NPC out one more time Perhaps with me as a 74 PLD before trying with me as a lvl12 BLM. Get the NPC trained as much as I can before risking going off with them on low level jobs.

(1)-The NPC may be called only when there are less than six members in the player’s group. A party may contain a maximum of three NPC fellows, along with the three players who have called them.

(2)-If the NPC’s level exceeds that of the player, its status will be adjusted to match the player’s level.
