Thanks Fortman, that worked. When I had tried "just about" every greataxe that was one of three that I didn't try -_-

I am at 5 callings plus two tactic pearl callings (not sure if they count toward the "total" the game has running) and I have not yet got the Blighted Gloom quest myself. My NPC is about 10 mobs into 53, so I am wondering what triggers the next quest still.

Well all I can say for certain is that I and 4 other people on my server immediately had the quest available after we had called our NPC 3 times since the patch/"Past Reflections". I do now believe that 'Reflections is also required to at least be started since you need to be friends with Angelica to start NPC-LB1.

Correction: Quest complete! whew that was annoying lol. No mention of anything gained at the end of the quest. Now to wait for the next quest in the procession to activate for me.
Mohazeris, how about a bit more information? This is like the guy who came here and posted the screen shot of his lvl cap being raised without a word about how it happened.

Pretty sure this is a sharing thread not a boasting thread.

Has SE ever added in quests that aren't obtainable yet? Like weapons and spells sometimes are? Maybe they "planned out" the rest of the quests, but don't plan to unlock them until a future update?

No idea, just making conjecture here.

Reguardless, I like that it seems they are basing some things with the update as being "day one"... they seem to be keeping anyone from getting *too* far ahead with their NPC.

Quest details were technically posted a while ago, I actually got the detail that let me finish from here.

Seems you have to finish the 4 quests from Luto Mewrilah to raise the cap to 60.
          Quick quest summarys
Didn't think I needed to reiterate it. I don't know how I got it activated (NPC is lvl 54, Tactics pearl is empty, waiting on today's Signal Pearl charge). The zone you are sent to of the 3 is random (I was sent to Ranguemont pass). You look for a ??? spot there and kill a Metallic Slime with your NPC. Oh, and the part about going to Lake Mechieume is where you go through King Ranperre's Tomb and head to Lake Mechieume's northern most reachable point (it's by a log).

I had completed the Picture Perfect Quest from Deidrik the day before that 12 hour maintenance happened.

I must've missed this forum when I started posting the details (I've been checking around a few forums trying to piece together clues for what to do next).

To get the 3rd quest you need to have good relationship with your npc and that you've received more options to your head band option

Ok this is my problem and let's see if anyone can figure out why. I have my npc capped in exp so 1 to 51 if you want to look at it like that. I've never let mine die or dropped my earring, etc. So my relationship should be good. Since the patch I have exped with him twice but he's still capped. So now I've tried doing the quests. This is how far I've gotten:

After talking to Luto, go to Windhurst Waters and talk to Tosuka-Porika.
Collect some foodstuff for him, all but BisonSteak is purchesable from NPC.
Trade in and watch the cutscene.
Return to Jeuno and talk to Luto then to Khomo Daramasteh close to the Khazam airship docks.

So I talked to luto after getting the cs in windy. I got a cs with Luto. Now I need to travel to Khazam to finish that part of the quest off? Someone told me to go to windy and do that Angelica portrait quest, which I did. Then they said go to Selbina and get a quest from a guy that talks about Angelica's paintings but I can't get the cs or the quest. So all I have to do is go to Khazam to talk to this other guy? Is fame required for any parts of this additional quests?

The NPC you're looking for is in port jeuno, the mithra that stands near the NPC that tells you the time for the Khazam airship before you pay for the airship.

Mohazeris, ok thanks for the update.

I had read that drop down previously but I wasn't sure if it had been confirmed since the information was posted long before anyone actually flagged the quest. Your original post lead me to believe you were still searching for the right body of water.

Yeah, I posted right before I remembered about the drop down. Started going nuts looking for a spot marked "Lake Meicheume" when it's just a ??? point shoved out in the middle of nowhere.

This is the first I have heard of this but I will post another reply as soon as I finish the quest. Sounds pretty cool though.

I have speculation on the Emptiness subquest.

Your partner gets EXP when you're finished. First time I did this, I killed 3 or 4 empty. 2 Wanderers, and 2 Weepers. She got 350 exp.

Today, I did this. I stuck around and fought a whole bunch of empty, about 40 minutes worth, mostly weepers as well since they're higher level than wanderers, and then finished the quest. She gained 1260 exp upon completion.

Unsure if they gain actual exp on the Empty, don't see why they wouldn't. The exp is small, 8-12 depending on what you kill, but that still adds up. So make use of the 45 minutes, I'm pretty sure this is why you have so long to complete the quest. Just make sure you have time to finish the quest.

If anyone else would like to experiment with that theory, it would be helpful.

I got the Promyvion quest today. I clicked the RP in Mea first, then went to Bastok, she wouldn't give me the quest at the RP. But then I went to Jeuno's RP and I got it. Went back to Mea, clicked the first floor ???.

Decided to be bold and told her I wasn't done yet. Soloed my way to the second floor, then finally found the ??? there. Wasn't gonna try my luck since I'm a PS2 player and PC lag was getting to me, so I chose to end it. I got 1600 exp for my NPC as opposed to the ~500 people were getting from just clicking the one on the first floor. I want to go higher.

                            peace,

I had a gut feeling about this, after reading it was possible to get more exp the more mobs you killed. Compared to what it took to level NPCs before this update, does anyone else feel it's almost a little *too* easy to get EXP now? =) I'm just kidding.. but it is such a drastic change it almost feels like cheating.
