I believe they did release info saying that if you fight mobs that are closer to your NPC's level, the armor will upgrade as opposed to if you fight mobs that are ridiculously high leveled compared to your NPC, the armor will downgrade. I might have just heard that from someone else, but I'm pretty sure its accurate cuz my NPC goes all the way back to Lv 1 stuff if I just nuke through a buncha high Lv mobs real fast.

Hmm, cause I had 2 upgrades sence then... the minor upgrade and the downgrade were when I both had party members with me. I play as a RDM in Xarcabard where things there are EP to me, and she did get alot of upgrades form that.

Maybe its an issue of participation, she did deal a deicent amount of damage as well as receive...

I'll keep on it and let you know what happens.

I don't think so. I sit out while my pt members and their npc's fight. The past 3 times he has has the same armor. Today though he upgraded to a Doublet from a Scale body.

Well I finally got the appearence option, so I was worried for nothing. NPC is level 40 -- I've been on a pretty good roll and hope to keep it up.

Does anyone know if it's still possible to kill all but one of the the max mobs, then -ga a bunch to death? From the wording of the last update, I couldn't tell if this was fixed or not.

well, if they havent changed it yet, if your NPC doesnt attack, he still gets XP, but it doesnt count as a kill.

Well 2 days ago my friends and I decided to take on some tougher monsters with our NPCs. We ended up going a little overboard and got a VT after us that ended up linking other VTs. We were ok for a while but man we just kept having more and more seeming like they were coming from nowhere after us.

Eventually they defeated us and our NPCs left. When we checked our NPCs 1 of my friends claimed they had on Iron Muskatter gear, mine has on some Mythril gear now from what previously was Scale Mail.

As far as I can tell it does seem to be a sort of participation thing. But one thing I know for sure with the relations if the NPCs incure a death or anything it doesn't mess up the count of when you'll get the next upgrade on them. Mine has died a couple times and still has upgraded gear and still get the new options after a certain amount of calls. The only thing a death does is slow when they'll get the next level up.

At one point mine had on the level 29 mage gear, and I took her to Xarcabard to level. About 7 monsters in I got linked by 2 other DCs, so I Super Jumped, gave her all the hate, and used an Instant Warp scroll. She died, but my Wyvern and I were fine. When I checked her she was back to Lizard. Maybe this is starting gear for an NPC that takes damage?

my yoli has been wearing a seer's tunica for the past few weeks, but i don't call her everyday......been going to eastern altepa at 35........hope she gets away from it soon

The time mine downgraded she and I were BOTH being massivly outdamaged by a lvl 61 SAM, so I am guesshing while you are in party his calculations get brought into the participation ratio...

Well I died twice, deleveled cause I agreed to take my fiance along and she agroed EVERYTHING. I can solo alot... but not THAT much. So she's downgraded, big time.

All mithra default cept for leggings.

Well as far as NPC gear it still seems to be a bit of a mystery. It's gone up and down on me no matter what I do. She's died and I've died and still either way her gear has what seems like upgraded and downgraded either way. Seems it'll still be a while before that's figured out.

Qufim mobs are too low NPCs. Fight mobs in Altepa, middle Yhaot or middle Zitah.

2nd Weapon Upgrade

I just got the 2nd weapon upgrade for my Sharlene, and gave her the new upgraded axe. But I noticed Luto said something that wasn't mentioned on here.

"Why don't you help her out and leave a new weapon or shield with me?"

I didn't see anyone mention anything about giving npcs shields, so I tried a Maple shield, and an Aspis. Neither worked. Since there's no Lauran or Elm shields in Jeuno, I'm off to Sandy to check if they have any in stock.

Btw, Sharlene is now level 37, and is looking sharp in her full Padded armor.

Yeah. Shield is new. It wasn't there before so there's no data about which shield to give luto. Most ppl give her a two handed weapon anyway. For the 2nd upgrade, g.swd, g.kt, and g.axe are best for most purposes.
