And your hair flows like.. The ocean breeze...
Not a million fights could make me hate you, you’re invincible.
        Yeah, It’s true.
It’s in your eyes, where I find peace.

The wide range of armors being equipped by the NPCs no matter what combat style they have active (Yoli equipped what looked like Trader's gear as an Attacker) reinforces my thought that the armors the NPCs wear have little if not nothing to do with their defense or, even if they do substantially alter the NPCs defense, are not the same suits of armor we adventurerst acquire, even if they do look the same.

how bout getting 3 pc blm with respective 3 npc, and go and kill around 30 mobs with thundaga 3's and check if you can quickly repeat withouth him disbanding?

                  and how about some overkilling?

3alliances 6 BLM, 6 NPC, each blm carry 10 mobs with them and meet somewhere, then cast Pwnallga.

sigh... lagfest Connection Lost Do you need it?

ok im thinking get ur npc for a nice PLVL and some dough too, go all the way into pal. mines, and send a nice Stone across the cell, summon npc, wait for the massive wave of impending doom and rain hell on them, winz? hey, dont die, bring a fork and poke them hard if needed o_O

3blm and 3 NPC is what my LS member did. Though sometimes it's 2blm 1 rdm.

you can't have alliances with NPCs.

Yeah you can. You're just limited to not having more than 3 npcs in one party. so nine pcs can make 3 parties of 3 pcs each, then call forth their 9 npcs with no problems.

Alright mine changed her armor again. I finally found the gear my npc is using it's the Eisenburst for the body, Eisenschuhs for the feet, Eisenhentzes for the hands, and Eisendiechlings for the legs all lv. 29 gear. That is if the photo I found of them is correct, I've never seen that Eisen set before and it seems to be the only one with that pattern matching it.

Given what I've started to notice her gear being like and knowing my own, along with how Luto in the CS acts toward the NPC character it is almost like you are a mentor in a way to that character. As being a mentor they are basically taking after you, each fight possibly looking at your gear and the boosts or defense abilities it has and trying to match it?

This would explain why the mage players with NPCs or attacker style are wearing gear that's a bit more suited to a mage. Anyway that's my theory on the gear.

                          Double Post Edited:
I've also been considering this theory as a purpose of choice for weaponskills they use and when they use it. I usually have a religious habit of using a WS at around 125% TP, I've noticed now that my NPC is firing her WS at that point now. In one session we did 13 WSs and 8 of them executed very close to eachother sometimes I got mine first and she'd end with a certain WS and other times she's started a WS just before I normally used mine and coincenditally the WS she used would work perfectly to SC with the WS I use. Even though she's getting like 20-40 normal damage and 60-90 WSs the SCs she's doing with me are constantly getting off 120-170.

Strange, my npc is wearing heavy def melee gear yet I'm always exping her with my whm af, errant, and zenith gear on. Guess she doesn't want to follow me. Mine also doesn't try to sc with me, she just uses one randomly as soon as she can (which isn't often) and it is nothing I can chain with. Perhaps it is just a coincidence. I can't imagine SE giving these really advanced AI with extensive memory pattern development. Not only would it take up too much processor time given how many npcs there are, but also extra memory would have to be devoted to each character to record the ai development for the npc. That doesn't fit SE's style at all.

Oh I wasn't thinking advanced AI at all. I was thinking more a simple flat table, for example with WS usage.

                              Say the table is:

ID |Flaming Arrow | Piercing Arrow | Dulling Arrow | Sidewinder | Burst Arrow | Emperial Arrow | Previous Average |

ID being your POL tag. Then say the WS you use the most is Piercing Arrow (Sort of my Favorite, even though I got Sidewinder I go to Piercing Arrow a lot). So now all you add on is a simple average of when you use your WS. Only need to do (<previous average> + <TP recorded>)/2 and log that as the new previous average.

That is effective enough to keep the NPC firing the WS close within when you normaly would. Then since the SCs can be broken down to a simple table (Which SE even prvoides), it would be a no brainer to be able to have the NPC reference which you do and get the WS that would start or close it. Then have it check against your previous average to guess if you are about to fire to determine if it should go first or not. This seems simple enough for a fighting setup to me, because it is obvious that it isn't extreemly intelligent but there does seem to be some sort of controlling factor that it starts to generate.

                              Double Post Edited:
Also you know your NPC is thinking to a degree when you have 3 of them perfectly SCing with eachother and not just a 1 time fluke, but 8 times.

My NPC usually tells me that she's ready if my TP is between 50%-99%. Lower than 50 or above 100 she will use WS right away without warning. The interesting thing is that my NPC never wait for me to WS first, but always uses hers.

About armors mentor I think for whitemages selecting a tanking style NPC that might not make much sense since obviously we will want our tank to be heavilied focused on defense while Whm of course should be wearing casting gears.
