got my galka buddy and went to batallia, killed a bunch of enemies, around 20 or so, he was dealing 20~30 damage and did fast blades and burning blades for over 70 damage o.o

voked all the time! which made me smile as a blm ^^

after a while i joined an alliance, when the alliance reached me he went off o.o i dont remember if i clicked him or not... it was just funny that he left RIGHT at the moment i saw the alliance members.. he said 'ok thats all for now, see ya later then!' or something

then i went to the rendevouz point and now he's wearing lvl 1 armor (the one you get when you join the game) and lizard pants and boots...

hmmm.... O_o?

Mine only stayed out ten minutes (according to the earring timer) then said:

"A fruitful day. I believe we have reached our quota."
"I take my leave of you. Until we meet again."

Then despawned. i didn't click him or anything. We only received 300 xp.

Went to check a Rend Point and found he got new pants and boots. Boots look like Eisenschuhs (lvl 29 war/pld). Can't tell about the pants.

When i was useing mine it stayed out for 40mins longest i seen any buddy out for. When i went to check his armor all of it was different look like he was a mage he had some on the armor for my blm.

I decided to go out and duo with my npc on my lvl 10 sam. It made getting the exp a lot easier, but after 15 minutes, the npc despawned. They really need to change this, it defeats almost the entire purpose if you can't even have your npc out long enough. In my opinion, I think the npc should stay out till defeated, and the recast time should be much less than 20 hours.

yea switching job to play with NPC for only less than an hour and have to wait a whole day really is annoying ; / i think it's S-E's plan to make you spent years getting your NPC to 75

ok i got my PLD to 5 and call out my buddy. gotta keep curing her to keep her alive >.>

I got about 700 exp in hmm 20 minutes or so? then she said

so... i guess i'll try to get my PLD to level 10 to provoke monsters off her. Maybe she'll get tired slower. Man she's not gonna make it to 75 like this, so lazy lol

My npc Mahoyaya and I went to Yhoator Jungle and fought Goblin Smiths & Yhoatar Mandragora's. We stayed there for about 30 minutes or so, I cured her, she did some skill chains, did Burning Blade twice, Red Lotus Blade once, and Fast Blade once. I managed to chain with her once. I didn't have my filters up so I didn't know what damage amount she was doing. Carbuncle was doing the tanking :D was playing a SMN as my main job, WHM sub.

Cured Maho a couple of times, poisona her as well. She got a new outfit, but I guess we need to fight more in order for her to level. Interesting note, if you summon your pet, Carby in my case, and send him out to fight, he can get the kill while Maho doesn't get hurt or anything.

All the mobs I fought were (Too Weak). So they do earn xp even when you don't. Sorta a relief.

Should I use my level 24 BST, level 5-9 *job*, 38 RDM, or 75 BLM to level this guy...

I think I've figured out the reason they despawn, from ready fastcart's post that he got 300 exp... tonight i got my buddy and tested. At 300exp, 14 mins into partying he despawned so a very safe conclusion:

The Buddy has a 'daily' exp limit. And I suspect that this 'exp limit' is also his/her TNL. That would explain why Jei's npc lasted for 700 exp the second time around (lemme know if I"m wrong about the second session thing Jei)

This also explains why my npc says this "exactly" word for word (I"ll post screenie later):

This makes me think also that squeenix put this in place so you'll take many many many days to get your npc to 75 lol... so the higher the npc tnl, the longer it will stay out.

I was fighting with my buddy as level 7 brd, with another friend in pty in gusta getting 10-30 per kill. Going to continue using my buddy everyday to test out this theory. Can anyone who already has multiple uses give us a more detailed account of how many exp you get before your buddy leaves, on a daily basis?

Excited to experiment more!

Really can't confirm if he gets no EXP, but if he can level up while I use my lvl 74, then that's the quicker path at least.

edit - i think it's nice to see people experimenting hehe.

Ya absolutely, I"ma summon him on my higher jobs then and see what happens, Definitely would like to share more info though. I feel like something is missing somewhere, like some type of equation that tells us when our buddy will level. Iono if that's even possible
