Payments other than CC?

I heard something about SE releasing special "gamecards" for FFXI? I played FFXI for about6 months but i had to stop playing for a bit, and nowi cant use my credit card to pay for the fee.

Can someone please tell me any more information about an alternative way to pay for FFXI.

Info from people who dont pay with CC would be even more appreciated.

I really wanna come back to this game but without a CC, i dont think I ever will.

thats a pretty cool one.. must be somewhat new.. I couldn't find if you have to buy it online though... For those with NO Credit Card whatsoever, try and check out a Simon Mall For a Gift Visa card you can buy at the info booth. As always call ahead to make sure the mall actually sells them, because not all them do. read about it here and checked it out.. it's legit.

Does anyone know what happened to the gamecards they were supposed to have?

I pay using my bank debit card.

they never announced them for U.S. use to my knowledge... although i believe JP players do have game cards...

thing about epassporte is, it seems to be european...

Oh and i forgot...whenu register with FFXI, do u need to give them ur account info even for getting the free month?

Yeah, that's pretty much the standard for MMORPG free months. Kind of annoying, really, especially with World of Warcraft, as those who didn't have credit cards had to wait around an extra week or so for the gamecards to be released before they could play.

Yes its European because they do not use cc's as prolifically as we do in the US.

How epassporte works basically is you open an account with them, you send them an amount of money (oy almost said gil LOL), and they deposit it to your account. Your then assigned a virtual credit card number to input when you register for FFXI. As long as you keep depositing money into your account, FFXI will automatically debit it each month.

just open a checking account if you don't already have one and use a check card. they act like credit cards. thats what i use for everything now... paying bills online, ffxi, everyday life... heck... i forgot what real money looks like o.O

Yes debit cards are excellent ways of having the convienence of a credit card but without the debt! Make sure that your bank offers Visa or MC debit cards though, some banks have their own cards and they will not work with FFXI. With some banks you can also tie your debit card to a savings account.
