Is this kinda in response to the creatures you battle with in WoW? Making it possible to solo the whole way?

Lines formed on my server to. Cure1 spamming from 15+ people though shut down any attempts for line cutters to get in.

I'm curious about how good the A.I. is for the npc. Probably actually be better than some actual ppl. Atleast if crap happens you wont expect your npc to do anything other than stand there and watch it happen.

I, a level 48 Dragoon, soloed it easily with a polearm. I didn't even summon Cerulean for it, but mostly because I hear if the Wyvern finishes it, it doens't work. If the NPC dies it doesn't work.

Three people can fight it at the same time. I DO NOT RECCOMEND THIS.

Yep, got my NPC. A.I. on it is pretty decent in tank mode, I decided not to voke, so it voked off me (Lv60 PLD) and kept hate fairly well. Gob in Valkurm didn't hit it for much... ^^... On my way to Kuftal Tunnel, however, I accidentally clicked on my NPC, and he said 'What? We're done already!?'. I didn't know what to do there, so I just said 'NO!' like an idiot. Then the npc said "Alright then, farewell." or something along those lines. -_-; ... I wanted to try it on some EP mobs and see how fast it levels, or what its' full potential is...

How was the Dragon fight in Ghelsba? Did it hit hard or fast? Was the NPC hit much?

I fought it twice and the fight was fairly easy. I was a PLD40/WAR20 (due to cap) and had the some mixed Lv12-14 gear, not counting my weapon, which was a lv39 Great Sword (Icebrand). Twice during the fight the Dragon actually got me down to half HP- but at a very slow pace. I had enough MP for 3 Cure III's, and I only had to use two before I was able to defeat it. At about 70% HP, the NPC came along and started hitting the dragon along with me. The dragon didn't have any AoE attacks at all, if I recall, and I was able to keep hate easily, so the NPC remained unharmed... for the most part. Towards the end of the fight, the Dragon (on both instances that I fought it) petrified me, and after having attacked me in my petrified state for roughly 15 seconds, it then turned on the NPC. Havin about 1/10 of its' HP left, however, the NPC was easily able to finish it off, and I won the battle. Also, I think it should be noted that this dragon misses a LOT. WAR/NIN, NIN/WAR, or THF/? would be perfect for soloing this; despite the fact that, IMHO, it poses a minimal threat to any job, from what I've seen. The fight is almost impossible to lose...

Almost impossible but possible. some lvl 37 jobs (or below) have trouble with this bc on my server. it is easy if you are lvl 40 or above tho. I did this as rng/nin with np.

This is what ppl on japanese webboard said. Depends on what you do during level up, your NPC may change job accordingly.
If you provoke monsters NPC will have more chance to become mage, If you cure the NPC they will have more chance to become tanks.
Also Elvaan/Galka will lean more towards tank, tarutaru lean more towards support, hume mithra in the middle.

It's just a guess, only time can tell : /

Double Post Edited: went to the meeting point in upper jeuno, the NPC said she's level 30 and current style is "shield" so there definitely is other styles hmm. but no option to change style. the japanese theory may be right.

This was just announced in game at 3:00am pdt:

At 4:00(pdt), we will perform maintenance on the Ghelsba Outpost area.
Players will be able to enter the battlefield in a party of 3 members. You will not be able to log into the effected area for about 5 minutes.
Player in the affected area should move to a different area or log out as soon as possible.

I just know they are raising hell in that zone across all servers now. They got an hour to beat the bcnm, or be kicked out and follow the anarchy after the log back in.

LOL. Now a moogle appeared in Ghelsba Outpost. It is saying "Stay in line, we don't want no troble" with trouble spelled that way. Its even on the Live Cam tho you can't see what it says.
