  • FFXI Replacement Music

Now that there's a really nice filehosting site, I can finally share this with a larger audience of people. I created a decent set of replacement music for Final Fantasy XI's battle music and various zones, including Promathia and Zilart areas. The music patch is split into multiple zip files. I did my best to make each song "fit" into their respective zones so stuff didn't feel out of place. Sources of the music vary, anything from Final Fantasy, Panzer Dragoon, and various other games.

Note that these files do NOT put music into otherwise silent zones. If I could figure out a way to make it work without replacing wind sound effects and the like, I'd do it.

With all that said, click here to check out my hosted files at Filefront. You will find the replacement music in the Music folder.

Enjoy. Commentary is more than welcome.

Hey, looks pretty neat. I'm downloading the first part as I type this.

Edit: I've got all the music installed. Wow, it's pretty revitalizing. All the other music was starting to become a bore.

I know which songs are where, but it'd take awhile to compile the list, something I'd rather not do, heh.

I'm using this, and loving it a lot. I'm a huge RPG music junkie, so hearing such a wide variety of great songs during FFXI (where I've memorized the music by now) is amazing.

And yes, it drives me insane when I hear a cool one and can't quite remember what it's from. Damn you.

Anyways, very cool, thanks for doing this.

                You're most certainly welcome.

And ruffry, it's pretty easy to put in. Like I said, there's a Readme file with basic instructions.

                        how to not screw anything:

                        backup all the original files.

about the hack thing, all i can say is: lol.

I'd like to ask how you transered the file format.

While I love alot of the music you put in, there are some instances where its repedetive, like the battle theme in the CoP and Zilart areas is the same, while normally they are differnt.

Any information would be really welcome.

Additionally your 107 File... its nice, it should be the Airship theme though ^^

I thought I heared some Suikoden music. XD The Jeuno theme, is that Breath of fire, or Suikoden, or somthing else? I recognized it as soon as I heared it, but can't think what it's from.
