Hey there. Thought I'd come here for a bit o' help

I have a bit of a dilemma. I've no character to call "myself" You see, Ill get interested into a type of character such as WHM or a WAR and play it. Happily too. Then I usually come to a point every with every stinkin character I make where I get bored and want to try something new again. ThAT'S usually because I saw someone don some high level gear such as Artifact and whatnot. I'm really into the game, but I can't seem to keep intrest in any character. Oh boy, I need some help on this one

are you talking about race or job? once you choose a race, your pretty much stuck with that. but as far as jobs go, you can be anything you want. just find something you enjoy. you can switch as many times as you want. unless your rich, just creat one of every race and play keep experimenting.

may i ask yuo whats wrong with playing more then one job? when i first started playing i had no clue what job i wanted to be at the end. so what i did was lvl a different one when i got bored playing my original one. the greatest feeling was when i switched over to my former jobs gear an thought. " man how kick ass do i look."

right now i have a 74nin, a 61drk, 60war, 51bst, an the rest of my jobs are at 37. an if your curious, nin was never my first chioce.

there are alot of benifets from having multi jobs at a higher lvl. your ls might need a whm for a bcnm run. a tank or DD. an you can basically fit those roles. yo never have to worry about your subjob falling behind. so honestly if you dont care about what happens after 69. take your time. go ahead an jump from job to job when you get bored. trust em when you go back to it. you will be excited.

i have the excact same problem i just cant stay with 1 job and i need breakes every 3 months

Taru's give awsome hugs! Well, pick a Hume, if you want to switch jobs effortlessly, or pick another race baced on what type of challange you want. If you want to be a mage, stay away from t3h Elvaans and Galka, cause you'll need an assload of skill and money to be decent XD. Of course, you can always pick Galka/Elvaan and be uber at DD, get to a HL, then get bored and go mage, while having the cash and support of a higher leveled job.

Just a suggestion. I'm RDM all the way baby!!!!!

The game is definately fun. Until the time when a I reach the point where I want to try something new.

My IRL friend has that problem, he just sells his gear that the new job can't use and buys stuff for what he wants to play next, he often goes back to the other jobs too and plays them more.

I usually stop playing jobs for a bit. My PLD is my main job, abotu lvl 60 I took a break, leveled WHM to 25, and BLM to 40. By the time I was done, I was so ready to tank again! I couldnt wait! I just kinda took another break. Leveled my WAR from 34 to 37, only took 2 days though.

Well they say "variety is the spice of life", so I've had lots of variety in FFXI. The only character I do not have is a Galka. I've lvled numerous jobs on all my different characters just to see which race I would like the job more on. Many many rank missions, genkais, af quests, etc later, I still love the very first job I ever played in FFXI....Red Mage (even when they weren't that popular LOL). Enjoy diversity, thats why they made the game the way they did!

do i relate? i certainly do.

first i wanted to be a rdm, wow it was cool, i used swords and cast spells funfun for the whole night, reached 30: "I'm so fed up with being a healer!" i said, "I want some action!" i said, so i got sam to 49: "I wont go trough this shit anymore!" i said, "I seek parties for a week!" i said, so i got bard to 40: "Woot!" i said, "Bard rocks man!" i said, but i was lying to myself, sure it's fun but it's not like i'm seeing any action... and it took me forever to kill a 'too weak to be worthwhile' mob like 20 lvls below me, so that pissed me off.

i never, NEVER IN A MILLION YEARS imagined myself with the job im using now, i went as far as saying 'i hate that job, ill never even lvl it probably' turns out 7 months after i started ffxi, i_am_LOVING BLM, it's so much fun, my LS helped me with old unused gear they had lying around so i was pretty much set to go with all best gear for my level, today im a healthy 53BLM and i'm so glad i took the heart to go trough it all again~!

Haaaaaaaaaaaaaaa, I was opposite that. I knew that as soon as I got the game, I wanted to be Red Mage. Actually, I wanted to be a mage, but BLM and WHM were too boring for me back then (wait, they still are now. . . ) So if yer bored, try switching up once in a while!

That's what I figured. I started a hume, added the Music Replacement package to my setup, and now I'll be able to have more room to switch around with. Thanks for all the suggestions ^^

I've been thru these episoides of well.. Gaming. Because its all the SAME! Bam bam clang clang slash slash and then the mere satisfaction of Experience of getting closer to the next level. Well I found a way to cancel that out. well I thruoughly (However u speel that) read thru each individual job. I read about bard the most. Ive been playing bard for a good 5 months now. And WOW it is insanely cool. Party's love you as long as you do your job right. Bard's are really fun because almost every party you get is good because your songs amp everybody's skill so mcuh you just kill and have fun and be like Wow that was fucking awesome how fast we killed it. Then people get the excitement of, oh let me see how much my WS can do, minute III and II me. or II I or w/e u have. This is what kept me going on FFXI. Was BARD/whm (Whm can lick my testy's) because your always doing something, and sometimes you dont even have enough time to get to that song in the amount of time in the Party! its so much fun I enjoy it and whenever u need money, just do a /shout looking for party! Skill Up and go kill shit and get good items. of course you have to lot for them, but the more you go for skill up partys the more money your going to make. I do skill up partys and I garden. so money isn't quite the problem most of the time.
