I've spent hours trying to pop this several times, no luck.

last time the katana sold was a year ago.

does it still exist?

It still exists... the reason why the Shinogi probably hasn't been sold lately (but a year? Ouch...) most likely is because it's rare to get and also a great katana for that level. (Although you can cover it up at 60 by a Sairen)
Are you sure you're at the right area? (F-8) if I'm not mistaken.

yeah all the maps show the 2 rooms on the left side of middle "layer" of ro'maeve. just to be safe, ive checked/cleared all 4 rooms (the 2 on the right also) but it never pops. i really am starting to wonder if it was taken out of the game? or somehow the pop is broken, like what has happened w/ steam cleaner a few times

Lottery pops are kind of crazy. A few days ago I spent 8+ hours helping a friend camp Wyvernpoacher Drachlox. The fact of the matter is, you don't have a guranteed pop, just a chance of one. Theoretically, if your luck is bad, you could camp it for 24 hours without a spawn and not get it to pop, but your luck would have to be really bad.

Sometimes 24 hr+ and no pop. I wish NMs went back to the old ways so normal players could actually have at them.

yeah i understand it might have been a really bad run of luck, but then why would there never be one on AH in a year? even shair manteel has been on AH

This isn't true. The one and only Shinogi on the server was first sold in February of '05 or so if I recall, being as I was the one who listed it.
It has changed hands on the AH several times since then.

There's a ton of items on my server you know still exist and last sale record on them are around 2003. Sometimes they are stuff I was looking for too, to bad the AH didn't have I'll have to just get them myself sometime

*sigh* i was almost hoping someone would confirm it was broken... im so tired of camping there. i guess i will keep trying.

i have no desire for the drop and i don't need money. i just like to fight esoteric NM's

i never heard anyone mention it. most ppl i talked to never heard of it. it's just something most ppl have never seen.
