Anway..... now that I have this thing working, I have a question to ask. (I'm still rather confused over this, so please try and bare with me if you will)
The character I put in the viewer that you see there - say for e.g. that is the one I want to use ingame, so what do I do now? Do I need to swap any files at all?
I had the impression that you only needed to swap any files, if you were to go looking for another file (in a ROM Sub Folder) that you wanted to use in its place, but since I want to use this one as an e.g. (and I didn't swap any .DAT Files to look for it either) I'm not sure that I need to swap any files now really.

So, I made a save instead, and I now have a saved .DAT File of that model in my default FFXl Folder.

So what happens now? Please can anyone tell me?
How do I get it to show up ingame? (or whatever you do)
Please help!

P.S. - I'm really desperate to get this thing going, so "PLEASE".......

What you see in the model viewer is the same as what you'll see in game. Unless you have that specifc gear in game you won't see it in game. The model viewer doesn't change what you see in game, it just grants you visable access to all the armor files available. But by swapping the 3d model .dat it shows you the armor you chose.

For example:

Say you are currently wearing the starting mithra lvl 1 RSE gear in game. In game you will see your character wearing it, you will have the icons for that gear in your inventory and you will have the stats it gives you. But say you then .dat swap the Mithran Seperates, the lvl 1 body piece, with the Seer's tunic. In game you will still have the icon for the Mithran seperates in your inventory, you will still have the stats for the seperates in your inventory, but your character will look as if you are wearing the Seer's tunic. Changing the .dat file just changes what 3D model you see in the game AND the model viewer. So instead of you seeing the mithran seperates, you'll see the Seer's Tunic.

To put it simply, the model viewer has no direct affect in your game at all what so ever. What it does do is allow you to see all the different armor and character models in game and see what it would look like to have what ever armor you wanted.

.dat swapping on the other hand, changes what you see in both the Model Viewer AND the game. So if you want to use the gear you set up in the model viewer, you'll need to find gear you can currently wear in game to replace it with.

Some side notes you should know about. When you .dat swap only you will be able to see the change, you are moving files around on your com so no one else is affected. Also everyone of the same race/gender as the item you changed(i.e. elvaan male subligar is a different file then the hume female subligar) will appear to have the same change. So switching out the Mithran Seperates for the Seer's tunic would make it appear that ALL mithra wearing the mithran seperates have the seer's tunic equiped, just like you.

I find it stupid that people want this in the game.

How could you change your race, I mean your job sure why not people can change their job and thats super this is one of the few games in which you can do that, but your race? thats just too far...

Well my son picked mithra for his character because he was going for thf and nin. The stats would benefit that. Now he wishes he would have stayed with Elvaan like he had in beta. They should have an event in the game that, for a fee, you can change your race. Of course, not have it all the time but like once a year for XXX amount of gil you can do it.
