windower should be allowed, but sq-e should have a bot scanner that would scan for bots and force people to remove bots before each major upgrade.

well, I'm just glad they fixed the hack that some programs were using to warp players around like mad.

Hah, I had all of those I just never even contemplated opening the .exe's for obvious reasons.

You can see one video of the cheat here and the second video here. There was also a download link for the program, but I'm not giving that out. Videos won't show you how to do any of it, just what was being done. Was quite easy to solo bcnm's with this cheat. These cheats still work after the patch. The developers were hoping that by breaking the windower, they could put a hold on this cheat until they stop it, but that doesn't seem to be working either. :sweat:

they really stoped widower, all you have to replace two files and windower works perfectly again. POL dosen't even check the actual files to see if they are the right ones.

Eh, if the target of this was meant to be windower, they would have stopped it from working, properly. All this patch does to windower is keep FFXI fixed and on top of everything. I could still execute programs if I just move them to the bottom of my screen, while having FFXI take up the top half.

In other words, if windower was the target, they messed up big big time.

Also, Edit: What I posted is not a "patch" for windower, it's a temporary fix that pretty much violates the TOS. Use at own risk.

They didn't target the windower specifically. The log says the update was for those new hacks that were made public, the ones from the videos. Seeing as how the hacks have only made it to NA forums a few days ago, SE really got around to fixing to quickly.

Poor windower I moved my SNES downstairs so I can play Super Mario World (1 or 2), Killer Instinct, Ms Pac Man, Legend of Zelda (the SNES one), Donkey Kong Country (2 and 3), or Kirby Dream Land 3 while LFP on my [/sigh] Monk.

ffxi.archbell.com there is a link in their forums to fix ffxi so windower will work
