Ping, you can't please all the people all the time and sometimes not even some of them. LOL I'm kind of a simple person so all the bells and whistles I will probably not use. I also have the patience to learn to use the site so I'm sure I'll get used to the new layout as will others. About the only thing I have to agree on is the color of the text. Between the white and the light blue it is a bit harsh on the eyes. Otherwise, glad to see your back in action and enjoy tweaking your site! Change is good!

The store looks interesting tho. I think "Custom Title" (your own) should be cheaper, but "Change Other User's Custom Title" should cost more. "Change Username" should prolly cost more too because it can get confusing with players (especially bad ones that likes to cause trouble and get warned a lot) changing their names every so often. Perhaps "Change Username" should be moved altogether?

Btw, I'd like to echo Kelenae's last post. Great job.

The text is quite hard to read honestly, white background + lightish blue text = bad... Ranks up there with dark text on a dark background >.>

Lightish blue text? Hmm.... How about we choose a different colour then maybe? I can still use the Indigo colour I was using before, so that hasn't changed.

Okay, let's see.
Regarding the new layout : Well, for one thing, I lost the ability to use the dark red page type I was using before, (Burning Circle I think it was called) and I don't think that option exists anymore. DOH! /sigh
Though quite a few of you maybe quite pleased about that.

The new layout in general has me a bit confused right now, (everything just seems to be splattered all over the place, making things a bit messy) making it difficult to locate my personal profile pages, and how to use them e.t.c.
The forums area is also a bit mixed up in some respects, as it's not always easy to locate the right posts and starting threads for everything.

Also, after I finish typing, I find that the default size of the text is a bit small, so I'm having to edit its size a bit, which is something I didn't need to do before.
This just gives me something extra to edit with, which is a slight annoyance, but not too overbearing.


Having said this, I think that within time, I will get used to the new ways of this site e.t.c so for now, all I can say is......

P.S. - I like some of the new smillies. They're pretty cool!

I would really love to just be able to choose one of the old templates as the layout. Shouldn't require much work I would think, though I admit I don't know much about configuring vB forums. I really liked the layout from before (I think I was using the Beastmen template, though I don't really remember since it's been a loooong time since I've messed with templates), it was really easy to browse the forums quickly and efficently.

Personally, I'm a fan of suplicity. I come here to talk to other FFXI players and share info with one another, not to to be ooh'd and aww'd at the layout and stuff. It shows a lot of hardwork, but a lot of it is just excess weight in my opinion.

Quick reply though gets much from me though.

Well I've always loved FFXIOnline anyways and the new layout is pretty fun. My only gripe is the text color. Having owned a website before, I know how frustrating it is to please everyone , but I think the text color is a major flaw. Just make it darker.

There's option to get rid of the side bars completely on the forum, inside your My Settings -> Edit Profile, you can put a check mark to get rid of the side bar.

I love the new site and I think PiNG's done a great job. Some things may have moved around, and that doesn't take much getting used to at all. Some other things have disappeared, but their functionality can be achieved in other ways (use your sig for character details if you want). But on the plus side, there's a ton of new stuff and the forums are running really fast.

Lol i can't believe it you guys....

You can turn off the side menus if you want when you're viewing the forum.

Plus, this is a HUGE site, it has so many topics and content.. thats why you have to scroll alot, be wise and use the 'new posts' page, it makes your life easier.

In my opinion, the site is perfect and needs no further adjustments.

New themes shall be created with time so stop with the 'too bright' whinery already, i miself will be making a theme and yes i plan on some darker colors because im one of those people who visit forums during the night, and in the dark sometimes a bright screen makes you go lala.

I find the site more visually appealing than it was in the past. Didn't take very long for me to navigate through at all, and the color scheme seems perfectly fine on my end.
