Race up to the camp is better than botters in the camp. I think racing up to the camp is more skill involved than setting up a program and let it run it's thing.

I didn't say extend the spawn time idea is all that godly and genious. But what else you can suggest to beat botters? Which is what this topics all about. Let's just stick back to topic, what you think it will be a good way to get rip of them beside use a more advanced bot or what people say "if you can't beat them, join them."? Or like my last post said, just give up and leave them if you seriusly tried everything you can and unable to beat them. It's not worth the trouble and time.

So it narrow down to couple options.

    1. Find or create your own more advance bot so you can beat them. Join the claim botter family.

    2. Join the botter LS. Like the elders said " If you can't beat them, join them."

Suggestion 3. (Not really available to choose.) SE do a change in the game so even if claim bot successfully run in the game, it will still meaningless. Such as extend the time to a impossible for a normal human been to camp it. I thought 15 hours should be enough, but alot people disaggree. I really can't imagin anyone would put up that much time camping it without staying infront their computer. You can't AFK because if it pops that time you are dead in 15 sec. Gil seller won't camp it because genbu makes even more money. Fafnir, what? a dragon talon and a GS you can sell for money? what else? KB, only hides? If they truely a gil seller then those aren't their option for a possible 15 hours of spending. Also in my prevous posts SE is most likely will never do anything to change them, so this option isn't really avaliable to choose and it's just talk.

    4. Just forget it. ( Most pupular option )

    5. Pretend that everyone plays fair and go camp them everyday ending up never get any claim. Then say to yourself " oh man, i think i was close there, better luck tomorrow."

Suggestion 6. (Not available to choose ) SE add more ENM and those item used to only exclusively drop by ground HNM will be available in them to obtain. At a much low drop rate.

Edited Forgot the 6. after reading some post above.

I like icemage's idea about making a hostile environment. somewhere not safe to let the char AFK.

Non AFKable areas would just require more people botting. One to claim and other's to kill.

HNM's as it stands can't be afk killed anyway, so it's not really afk, it's just fast claim.

Nothing like throwing more bots for botters.

The most likely answer for S-E is to minimize without putting more hassle, on the zone, the system, the coding, or the players. They're usally creative when they want it to be.

The bigger problem is does S-E feel the need to. Sore loosers cry the loudest when they loose. And many people despite being level headed tend to have some of that.

I have seen HNMLS loose 3 times and cry foul from everything from botting, to mpk, and more weirder rumors.

In end they just got beaten by the old, widescan trick.

S-E will have to(and probably did) gauge it and see where the priority stands or even if there is a need to.

fixing the problem would be helluva easy.

just make it so a mob cant aggro, get damaged or be claimed for the first 5 sec after spawn, everyone that voked/dia/flash/attack or whatever the mob in the first 5 sec will be added to a pool and once the 5 sec is over the game will randomly sellect 1 person from the pool and give claim to him/his PT, this will also come with a hatereset so mob wont start mpk'ing. there problem solved and botters have no room in FFXI anymore.

then you will have LS with multiple botters or more to make sure more than one of the chosen to be randomed is theirs.

Not hard to do, bots can be turned on and off via macro, so it wouldn't be an afk bot.

If the none botters cant manage to get their vokes ect in before 5 sec is up they dont deserve to get the claim imho, thats a realy long time if you look at it and everyone bot or no bot will have a human chance at getting the claim as the game desides randomly who got the claim instaid of who voked the fastest.

I think there is another way competetive HNM camping could be implemented.

A sort of BCNM/Cloister of trials deely. (Yes! Deely!)

A HNM can reside in a room that to get to an alliance would have to solve puzzles, like the ones you see in newspapers and such. If they could make these puzzles different everytime then the smartest LS would be able to get the HNM. First alliance of players to get past the 3 puzzles gets the claim.

Alliances would zone into the zone that would be instanced only for them so an other alliance couldn't benefit from anothers work.

It's more interesting that waiting for a mob to pop and would promote teamwork within a LS.

This is probably impossible to impliment under FFXI's engine but I think it's a nice idea none the less.

Wouldnt it be only a challenge for the first few people going through? I mean it has to be easy once its figured out..>_>

That would hopefully stop them being the same. >.>

Also the whole alliance goes through at a time and people in different alliances wouldn't be able to see how other people solved the puzzles on that run and would have o solve it themselves.

I thought I made that clear. xD

This is a great idea. This promotes more people in LS's showing up because it offers a better chance to get claim.

The only problem is SE would never implement something like this. Then again, I should never say never...^^
