  • Transfering Macros between PCs

Sorry if this is posted elsewhere. I did a search and didn't find it. Anyway I have a question. Is there any way for me to transfer my macros from one pc to another instead of having to remake them all?? Is there some sort of file I can copy and paste? This would make things alot easier. Thank you in advance

In the interest of being more useful than the previous poster... You can copy your macros from one computer to another using the following process:

In Windows Explorer open /path/to/PlayOnline/SquareEnix/Final Fantasy XI/USER. Copy the entire contents of the USER folder to the new computer and all your settings and macros per character will be transfered.

Bare in mind: this will only work if you are using the same POL account on the other computer. If not, the process is slightly more detailed:

You must go to the same folder and open the randomly named folders within and copy out the mcr*.dat files (all 10 of them) that you desire to place onto the other computer. To make sure you are copying the right files you can open them up with a text editor such as Notepad and peek at the hex code inside. You will see the text from various macro commands throughout them.

      Good luck.

        I wonder what this does?

        http://www.playonline.com/ff11us/ffxi_news071703.shtml

Macros, map markers, and other configuration files can now be saved to PlayOnline. There are four slots (one slot for one character) where data can be saved.
-To save data, press [L1+L3] or [Shift+Alt+Ctrl+B] at the character select screen. Use the directional buttons to select a slot to save the data to.
-To load data, press [R1+R3] or [Shif+Alt+Ctrl+R] at the character select screen. Use the directional buttons to select a slot to load the data from.
-To erase data, press [R2+L2+R3+L3] or [Shift+Alt+Ctrl+D] at the character select screen. Use the directional buttons to select a slot to delete the data from.

Man, you can dig up a lot of junk with google @_@.

I posted the same thing on the other site I mentioned, where he asked the exact question. Thanks for posting it here though. I was tired and didn't think to just copy and paste it on both forums.
