There's no doubt that there's an intricate story in FFXI... many parts of the story in all the various quests (AF Quests, Nation Missions, ZM, Dynamis, Soon to be CoP missions, avatars, etc.), the only problem is the exorbitant amount of time required to unlock all the story.... for the most part the stories serve as a bonus to the players, rather than an incentive, because the effort required is so great.
So this thread is about gathering all the pieces of the story puzzle and putting them together. As such there will be major spoilers in this thread; if you don't like the idea, you should probably stay out. On the otherhand, if there are some parts of the story that you're interested in and will do soon, while other parts you doubt you'll ever do (like the AF stories of other jobs), we can try putting clear spoiler markings on each bit of story, marking the mission/quest.
If possible, a sticky would be nice, as I'm sure this would be a great resource for all the players; traditional FF games manage a much more cohesive story in a tiny fraction of the time... there's a great sprawling story in this game as well, but who's going to recognize its brilliance if only 1 in 10,000 people gets the chance to see the whole thing?
