Hmmm, you're right, it does appear to be a prefix...

    Ru'Aun Gardens
    Ru'lude Gardens
    Gardens of Ru'Hmet
    Shrine of Ru'Avitau

Judging by the way the storyline plays out, there are probably two different languages from the ancient world, Zilart, and Kuluu... they seem to be similar though, in regards to the prefixes...

But, what do they mean? I'm thinking that for places, they describe what kind of place it is, and for names, possibly the rank, or family name of the person. (I'm guessing Kam'lanaut and Eald'narche would have different prefixes, since Eald'narche most likely got a new prefex when he became a ruler, would that mean his name was originally "Kam'narche"? Who knows...).

ok guys I'm abck to try and gather some info to update my ffaq (which by the way has tooooons more info now)

      http://www.gamefaqs.com/computer/dos...me/920506.html
      or
      http://www.gamefaqs.com/computer/dos...me/555735.html
      are you two best bets

I have some questions that I still can't figure out and I'm looking for theories or answers from you all..

      1. In the intro movie to the game, the fall of tavnazia, Aldo is featured as a little boy with his sister Emelin. The problem is... if she's dead.. then who is his current sister? cause he name certainly isn't emelin

      2. Why are two main characters both named Cornelia? Both from bastok and both connected in some special way to the galka..
      but seperated by a generation..
is it just a popular name? Did the president give his daughter that name after the incident? what is her connection to the galka?

      3. Bahamut speaks of being the defender of the gateway to paradize during a great battle with the zilart..
but I was under the impression that the zilart never even got close to paradise becuase just before they could activate Tu'lia the priestess and the "rebellion" destroyed one of the reactors (fei'yin)...
so how could bahamut be around >< BAH..and why did the Kuluu make a deal with him...
maybe I'll find an answer to that when they update.

        1. Verena isn't Aldo's real sister, I believe she's an orphan he decided to "adopt" as his sister, though we haven't been shown the reason why.

        2. Cornelia answers this in a cutscene you can get if you visit her room after you gain access to the Presidential Office in Bastok. She was named in honor of the first Cornelia.

        3. Most likely the destruction of Fe'Yin was actually a giant battle involving the Zilart and Kuluu. Bahamut may have been present.

Don't you hate when that happens? At least it's not as bad as the backstory in EverQuest was, that thing was changed so many times over the course of the game it wasn't even funny.

I don't recall anything about Selh'teus being the son of any Zilartian King. He, like Nag'molada (and all the other Kuluu) was born without the "Whisper of the Soul" - this is the only difference between a Zilart and a Kuluu. The Zilart have it, the Kuluu do not. Of course, more significant things happened with Selh'teus, the Kuluu rebellion, the Keeper of the Apocalypse, Al'Taieu, and the attempt to open the Gate of the Gods long ago. We haven't really gotten the clear and understandable version of that history lesson yet.

As for the present, Selh'teus is trying to prevent the Keeper of the Apocalypse from coming to Vana'diel. (Shockingly enough, he's a good guy.) What the exact plan was, is revealed after mission 7-5 ... but it ends up that the group decides on a different plan that doesn't involve your character dying. (Isn't that nice of them?)

Unfortunately, Nag'molada steps in and screws everything up with his own lust for power. No surprise after he sic'd Ultima Weapon on you, really. So now we're after him, before we can deal with the Keeper of the Apocalypse. (Whose identity still remains a mystery, though I'm half-tempted to guess it's Lion or Yve'noile or something silly like that.)

Yve'noile as the Keeper of the Apocalypse? Now THAT'D be a shocker...

Have you fought Nag'molada yet? I've heard a lot of people talking about some crazy boss fight in Al'Taieu. And he seems to have become the main villian of the CoP storyline (I was hoping he'd be good, I like him).

Probably the Keeper is going to either be Nag'molada, or some person we haven't met yet...

Im kinda glad it turned out that way, I like Nag's But when He slapped me , kinda pissed me off.

THEN he had his lap dog Cut Selh'teus down in the Promyvions .
Dude turned out 100% into what I wanted from him heh.

It would be nice to see lion again, Especially after Last Ziraat mission and Y've pokes her head into everybodies business anyway.

There are some fights in Al'Taieu (primarily when people get aggro'd by these NM flying jellyfish things that are so high overhead that you don't notice you're walking below them). And there are a few more spawned NMs to get into the Grand Palace of Hu'Xzoi. But as far as anyone knows (from my browsing around online), after a cutscene in the palace where you get a Tavnazia Ring, that's it for missions for this expansion.

I have a feeling Nag'molada will be the next BC fight though. My safehold title bard is screwy (I dunno if everyone's is, or just mine), and gives me non-chapter titles a mission or two in advance. I had "Esha'ntarl's Comrade in Arms" - from 7-2 - available when I was still on 6-4. Before the patch was available, when I was stuck on 7-3, I had "The Chebukki's Worst Nightmare" - that one is I think the 7-5 BC, hard to confirm since it'd be promptly overwritten with the chapter 7 title. I'll see if repeating the BC for other people, gets you the BC title (if any) without the chapter title.

(Rather like your third of the 5-3 fork titles, you do not directly see because you immediately go on to finish chapter 5 and get that title. Or like you do not directly see Ultima Undertaker because you immediately go on to finish chapter 6 and get that title. The chapter titles are 1200 gil from the safehold title bard, all the rest of the mission titles are 1400 gil.)

And now I have "Unquenchable Light" available ... yet again, without having gotten it in the first place. Considering what Nag'molada *does* (namely, steals one of your five Light of ____'s - the fifth, incidentally, is Light of Al'Taieu and is gotten after 7-5), it'd make sense if you got this title from getting it back by beating him. And since I don't seem to be getting titles *several* missions in advance, I assume this will be the next one. (And then when I get it for real, I'll likely have yet another not-yet-earned title available from the title bard.)

In the meantime, Al'Taieu has some *very* funky sky.

So... you fight against Mr. Fire Blade and the Terrifying Trio themselves? That must be odd...

No fire on the blade. And the trio are immune to all attacks (/envy) - they're more of a background annoyance that occasionally, not particularly fast, attacks you or helps him. Worst you'll usually see out of them is a Cure V. Occasionally a -ga III nuke. Generally they're a lot more harmless than that though.

He himself, is the main issue. Mostly because of Cosmic Elucidation.

just a little note for you all...
on this "yvenoile theory" that she's the keeper..
I was writing up the next part of my history of vana'diel guide
                          (shameless plug: http://www.gamefaqs.com/computer/dos...me/920506.html)

when I went through one of the scenes again..
and while this isn't word for word this the break down..

                          *sorry in advance for spoilers*

In the "vision" right before Promy-vzahl there are 3 scenes
                          1. Yvenoile is seen with two boys off screen (nag and selh), they ask her to request for them have access to the Kuluu city and leave the capital.
                          2. the next scene is Selh begging Graviton and the Kuluu to join him in Dynamis with diabolos and fight back to rejoin the zilart as one. (still not sure why)
                          3. the final, more ominous scene is of Nag'molda and Yve'noile talking about the betrayl of Selh'teus. Yve speaks with Nag on his reasoning for working for the zilart and the kuluu, becuase in a way he is betraying both peoples by doing so. she doesn't understand how he can work for both, when she wants them both gone from the world. Nag says the only one he is 100% loyal to is her, and unlike Selh'teus he won't ever betray her trust. She turns and replied "and what if I betray yours?"

NOW WHAT THE HELL DOES THAT MEAN?!?!
I can assume possibly that she is refering to the kuluu/dawnmaiden attack on the zilart..
                          but I'm not sure anymore.

which I sorta figured out waaaay too early and ruined it for me

hmmm. interesting, I kinda knew Yve, was like the linchpin to the main story of this game. I mean she is literally EVERYWHERE.
Im thinking highly that she is the "earthly" Avatar for Altana instead of just a leader of the dawnmaidens. Altana is the creator, and the Dawnmaidens seem to do whats best in regards to Altanas wishes. So the Ziraat and Kuluu are not part of her wishes, thats the only thing I can take from her part in every story arc.

Thats my take on the conversation between her and Nag's

It might be a reference to the Meltdown...

Yve and Grav were apparently the masterminds behind the Kuluu attack on Fei'Yin, but the results of that attack nearly destroyed both the Kuluu and Zilart people. Yve knew this, but apparently decided that destroying both races was preferable to the much worse outcome of opening the Gates of Paradise.
