/em wakes up.

I was reading and ran into the post about 3000gil for crimson gauntlets and i thought "wow, 3000gil isnt so bad" then i reread and it says '$'3000 and im like wtf?? i could find better uses for that $3,000 like:

Prepaying my isp ($3,000 / $45 = 66months prepaid = 5years!)
Prepay my rent 5x = 5months in advanced
Make a better gaming rig
Get a new bodykit for my ride
Surround sound system
N.Y. to LAX 3x
1 Trip to japan to check out E3
Wipe my butt with 1s
and many other things

Using money to pay for gil imo is like laundering money from yourself to people who are stealing from SE. There are better uses for that money like err... anything stated above.

Say i get paid $10 an hour and i work 10hours a day and i work 6days a week for 5weeks, i would get paid $3,000 without taxes or deductions. I just threw away a month of time for a REALLY great peice of armor. Thats how some people here look at it.

RMT in HK

Not sure about Japan, but RMT is pretty popular in Hong Kong, especially right after a patch. Let's just say 20 million gil is sold out within 4 hrs.

Also, the shop-owner/shop-keeper of the store where I bought FFXI from plays the game 24/7, so he sells the Gil to ppl to suppliment the income from his store. The rates, however, is much much cheaper than Online store. Cash only, tho.... $110 for 1 million...

I saw the gil prices before...they are so friggin expensive. I mean..I realize what I'm about to say is low...but if I actually get really bored this summer and decided to program a bot and auto farm or NM camp (but then that'll take a lot of work..I don't even know how Final Fantasy XI works...not until I decompile and unencrypt the coding XD) imagine how much money someone could make off with this. My brother has a 74 DRK/THF and farming with that wouldn't be too hard. Holy, I understand why people are willing to sell gil now, the amount of rich people with rich daddies are basically FEEDING them with good cash while they sit back and buy more computers to do more botting, or run multiple OS on one computer if it's fast enough.

You have to admit though, that's a lot of money ><

from a purely economical stand-point, youd be stupid NOT to buy gil. Considering someone who makes about 100 dollars a work day (which is fairly low for professionals). That is about 400k worth of gil a day... not bad... MOST people can't make that much gil a day ... of course some can,

By the way, 100 is a lot of money. You could use it to buy multiple roses for your girlfriend/boyfriend. Buy something we all love, FOOD. And maybe even a better keyboard or chair. I'm not wasting 100 on a game which I will eventually quit.

Well I guess I could only speak for myself. But I like achieving my goals. It gives me a sense of success, rather then taking the easy path. Like at level 7 I wanted leaping boots, I got them even though it took me a week. It's just a sense of success to me.

And as I said before, 100 is a lot of money. Time is not proportional to money during summer because there is TOO MUCH TIME =P Which must be spent of course, and I choose to spend it on Final Fantasy.

Now he looks at the game, and it falls into the same category. So he decides to purchase the gil with real money. Next day, he buys the item he needs and gets on with playing the game he loves so much. His hobby.

This is why I attempted buying gil from IGE... To no avail. My paypal account is messed up..

My total playtime is 4 hours a day, my time is unlimited on my days off from work though obviously. I can extend this, but..I lose out on sleep. And I work at night. My time at lv60+ will be very very hard than most people when I get there. I can afford 300K at most. I can buy this once a month. Saving whatever was left, slowly building a huge amount.

For those reasons stated in your post. And being a person in those situations. I agree with buying gil. how I get by now..?

Garden, crafting. Its slow.. but faster than farming for a stack that will never happen. Farming is very depressing. Farming to get enough gil to buy something you need, in order to be all that worth to people in PTs is very discouraging when you've been trying for 2 months or more and only half way to getting a said item..

That's the only way i'm gonna see it. Who cares about all the whining "I can't play it for that long. I don't have time to farm. I don't make enough."

I work 8 hours a day, full time job, and sometimes, if I'm lucky, I'll get 2 hours a weekday to play. I spend most my time in game during weekends. I farm for my gil. I work hard at it because when all's said and done, it's ME who's accomplished all the work to get me where I'm at in the game.

incapability of farming cannot justify your sorry excuse of buying gil. gil-buyers disguest me becaues they know it is a direct violation of TOS, but yet they still do it. don't play the game if you can't play by the rules.
