That means, if you run into a female character, 95 times out of 100, it is played by a male.

I don't know math, but wouldn't that mean the same percentage of females play males as males play females?

Correct. Saying only 5% of FFXI's population is female doesnt necessarily mean that its 5% of female characters and 5% of male characters. My guess is that its less than 1% of male characters and a much higher percent of female characters. (Mithra is probably the exception to this, since a lot of guys play it for the particular stat boosts it gives.)

I'm really sexist in game. I won't party with a mage who isn't female or a tank/damage dealer who isn't male. Don't you people know that GENDER AFFECTS ROLE PERFORMANCE! hahaha, now I know why no one has beat Absolute Virtue. I play a Mithra since I'm a social degenerate that gets turned on by cats.

Honestly, Hume males looks particularly weird so I ended up being Mithra. Elvaan looke horrible and Taru's are too cute. Galka are Galka, no explanation needed there.

I dont really see any Sexism lol, but one thing does bother me....there are no equipmen that have a "dress" or "skirt" nothing not ONE thing I never understood that, and half the armor also like to show off the female thigh -.- but other then those two things I see nothing else :p
