I finally get it... this is the first time I've seen the SE chart, and looked at the pages there.

So, to make a level 1 skillchain I start with a skillchain from the left column, combine it with one at the top, and you get the top effect.

To get a lvl 2 skillchain, there are only 4 ways,

Liquefaction -> Impaction = Fusion
Induration -> Reverberation = Fragmentation
Detionation -> Compression = Gravitation
Transfixion -> Scission = Distortion

To make a pair of SC's, I need three WS.

Distortion is Compression WS -> Transfixion WS = Transfixion SC -> Scission WS = Distortion SC
Fusion is Impaction/Scission WS -> Liquefaction WS = Liquefaction SC -> Impaction WS = Fusion SC
Gravitation is Impaction/Compression/Scission WS -> Detonation WS = Detonation SC -> Compression = Gravitation SC
Fragmentation is Reverberation WS -> Induration WS = Induration SC -> Reverberation WS = Fragmentation SC

Did I get that right? These are the only paths to lvl2 skillchains as far as I can work out.

Now, I just have to work out lvl3 skillchains, as far as I can see you need a level 200+ WS that has a built in level 2 effect. I don't see how to get 2 lvl 2 SC's in a row any other way.

Thanks everyone, I can finally work out my own skillchains, something I've been wanting to do since I started levelling my melee jobs.

Thanks Rengoku! I've been hoping to find an updated version to that chart for a while now. I mainly use Adennak's, but I've always found this one handy at times as well.
