  • Safest route to Jeuno

This is for the lv20-, who still havent got chocobo license.... I was asked by a LS friend once on which route is safest... and here's my answer:

Shortest route: Windrust, but also the most dangerous, in Meri Mountain, you have to go under the bone, which usually have a lot of weapons(sound based) near it, and in Champagne, the map is real packed with aggros everywhere.

Longest route: Bastok, less dangerous than Windrust's route, but there are a few sound-based detect aggro on the way, namely Quadav.

Safest route: Sandoria, although the forest is easy to get lost in, Sandoria->jeuno is so far the safest... with little aggro on the way, and mostly sight-detect aggro, going from Sandoria is the safest.

Sound-based aggro is dangerous because if you are stuck in a narrow path, there is no way to sneak past them w/o magic, whereas sight-based aggro can easily be avoid if you run behind the monsters.

No matter what route you take just change to a lvl1 job and bind at each signet guard you can. That is the safest route.

Do not attempt the windurst > tahrongi > meriphad > saratamagne(spelling).

that is a death sentance right there.

shortest, safest, and best way to get there is

le thenne plateau > jugnet forest > battalia downs

make sure you have maps which you can get at north san doria by the water fountain.

in jugner just keep a real safe distance from forest tigers as they are fast and will attack you from a good distance (orcs, goblins, etc shouldnt be trouble to avoid)

in battalia watch out for sabertooth tigers and hounds the most as again they are fast and attack from long range.

if your patient and aware believe me this is the besr route... did it with about 3 chars and never died once.

          I prefere

Konschet Highlands -> Panshow marshes -> Rolenberry fields -> lower jeuno

I don't like jungar at all because the trees just get in the way when you want to run away

Started over a number of times.

actually did it about 4 times.. once i took the rolandberry fields and the other 3 i took jugner.

being my first MMORPG i am still getting used to the whole thing... which is why i start over alot.

Best route ever:... La Theine >> Jugner >> Battalia.

If you're 20, La theine is no problem (except some meddling Orcs that think they're all "badd ass".

Jugner has very little aggro. Some orcs, goblins and, of course, the tigers. If you stick to the path, it's a pretty short route. Has two Outpost checkpoints as well.

Battalia is a little more dangerous, but I rather deal with it than Rolanberry or Sauermounge. Once again, the only aggro I have seen here are goblins and more tigers. By the time you go to get your chocobo lisc., you probally wont have a map to Battalia yet. It's fairly simple to navigate. Once you pass the first mountain-side all you have to do is travel strait east.

If your traveling from San d'Oria, this route is short, simple and strait-forward. No weird turns and getting lost like the marhslands.

I went Highlands-->Pashow -->Rolanberry. I hit Rolanberry and didn't even have a map. So I sorta used a printed map (I know shame on me and I haven't done that again since  ) and relative location so try and pin-point where I was until I reached Jueno. A little slower, but yes...regardless of which route you choose...Get those maps first if possible...nothing worse than ending up way on the other side of the Area nowhere near the Zone and sourrounded by IT's that aggro.

You can use a lvl one job and go there  many people have done that or just do what I did ask nicely for a high lvl person to guide you

lol I got an army of friends to escort me.... from Windrust to Jeuno... but I personally prefer Sandoria's as well.. no sound-based aggro, making it easy for me to doze while running...

I did it in one try, never aggroed. But I had sneak/deo on. It might be different for other jobs, but I find sauromugue no problem if you have sneak/deo (I don't know if the deo actually did anything, it seems to be mainly sneak; so anybody could do it with a couple silent oils.) Meriphataud is no problem (and you've probably already hunted there to get your wildgrass); just don't cross the spine at night (20:00-4:00, undead and weapons spawn near the spine).

The most important thing to remember, whatever route you are taking:

Do NOT attempt to go to Jeuno unless you are Lv 20 in some job, have 4 Gausebit Wildgrass and at least 500 gil for chocobo (or 5000 gil if you don't have the Wildgrass, you can buy it in jeuno).

You do NOT want to be stuck in jeuno with no chocobo license and thus no way to get back. You can't make money in Qufim.

I took the Windurst way there cause I was in windurst and too lazy to take the boat to Selbina and go to Battalia. I took the Sauromague Champaign way and made it safely till the gate right infront of Jeuno then got shot by a Goblin Furrier thank goodness I was a lvl 1 thf (I got raised in the end though)

                            Hey Rollchan ^^

I think La Theine > Jugner > Batallia is the safest, but if you really don't want to die get a high level (preferably whm or rdm) to sneak/invis you through.

                              But I had sneak/deo on
                              That would definitely help.

but going through the sarau. is dangerous... the dinosaurs in that area are probably the fastest creatures in the game (at least from the ones i have seen so far) and will attack you from very long distance (those raptors, etc) if one attacks you are dead for sure no way you are outrunning those things and they hit hard.

not to mention there is just tons of aggro monsters in that region.. everywhere you look is some kind of dangerous creature.

if you actually can make it through this without death more power to you... but it is way more trouble then worth when jugner > battalia is much more safe and easy.
