Windurst to San d'Oria or visa versa?

My friend created his character in Windurst and i'm in San d'Oria. (on the same server of course)

We'd like to meet up in game to party. How can we get from Windurst to San d'Oria or from San d'Oria to Windurst easily? Or do we have to wait till we are a high enough lvl?

You can attempt the journey at a low level, but it'll be very dangerous. There are two ways to get from Windurst to San d'Oria. One of them involves higher level areas than the other, but even the other can get you killed if you are below lv30.

Anyway.. the lower level way, starting in San d'Oria:

San d'Oria > West Ronfaure > La Theine Plateau > Valkurm Dunes > Selbina > Ship to Mhaura > Mhaura > Buburimu Peninsula > Tahrongi Canyon > Sarutabaruta East > Windurst

The higher level way, involving Jeuno, starting in San d'Oria:

San d'Oria > West Ronfaure > La Theine Plateau > Jugner Forest > Batallia Downs > Upper Jeuno > Lower Jeuno > Port Jeuno > Sauromugue Champaign > Meriphataud Mountains > Tahrongi Canyon > Sarutabaruta East > Windurst

i'd suggest getting to level 10 or so at least before making the trip -- the lower level route that the above poster, miriamel, suggested is what i used, but in the reverse (windurst -> san d'oria). at the level 10-12 range, you can meet in selbina or mhuara and make a party for valkurm or buburimu, or even the maze of shakrami, which connects to tahrongi canyon.

I suggest you switch to a level 1 job - that way you won't lose experience when you die and it won't affect the conquests. Yesterday I went to Jeuno for the first time running from Windhurst at level 1. In Saurumugue Champain I was killed by skinks a few times and I had no map so I got lost a bit, but still it wasn't that difficult. Just make sure to have your homepoint set between each zone.

Are there usually home points at the enterence to each zone, or where would they be found usually?

There are home points at the entrance of each zone plus at the outposts. I believe there is an outpost between Jeuno and each of the three cities.

Unless the zone is a beastmen area. :sweat:

And if your home country isn't #1 in conquest for the zone you're crossing, you'll have to pay quite some money to set HP.

Ohh now i didn't know that.....

The Fee is 100 gil to set your homepoint and it increase with your rank, lvl or whatever. For me its 800gil even when i change to a lvl 1 job. I also heard it costs 1600 for others. Dunno how high it increase when you are Rank 10/lvl 75.

How do you get your rank to increase, is that from the missions?
