  • Coffer vs Chest?

    Is there a difference between a Treasure Coffer & a Treasure Chest?

    I'm looking at this treasure map and it has each in different categories w/ different spawn locations. Can anyone explain the differences (if any).

    Treasure chest is lower level, treasure coffer is higher level.
    You gotta kill tougher things to get coffer keys to drop, than chest keys.
    Coffers look a little richer than treasure chests, but they aren't huge like a coffin or something =>_>=;;

      Coffer and treasure keys? Please dont tell me you have to use keys to get into your own damn mog house coffer/chest. That would be so incredibly lame.

        Thanks for clarifying. Another question then. Can you give me an example of the names of the keys? Take for instance Castle Oztroja, where both treasure chests & coffers can be found. Will the name for the chest key be different than a coffer key? Like will the keys be named "Oztroja Chest key" and "Oztroja Coffer Key"? Its not like I'll be able to kill anything for a coffer key, I'm just trying to clarify some questions for my treasure hunting PT.

                Thats awesome jei

                About mog houses and keys, you do not need a key to enter your mog house.
                Chest and coffers are not in your mog house.
                Chests and coffers can be found in areas where you fight monsters.
                You can open chests and coffers with the right key.

                  :sweat:

                  Thats not what I meant. I meant the <Storage> option in your mog house. You have to buy Furniture <chest/coffer> to use the option. From the thread I was under the impression that it was being stated that one would need a key to open them, thats why I said it would be lame.

                    I don't think many people ever bought the furniture chests and coffers (before today). Those phrases have always been used to mean the treasure coffers and chests in dungeons. Hence the confusion...
