Shun has stolen from me, plz help me find him~

Feb 10th, i made a deal with a JP char named Shun to sell my kraken club to him. As we were both in a hurry, me for rl plans and he for 'ballista', i allowed for a 'half now, half later' deal (he wanted to enjoy the club in ballista, i was being kind). We /befriended and i had him msg the details of our agreement so i could pull it up onto my log at anytime. Later came, and he didn’t. A week passed, i began to shout, looking for him and 'ruining his rep'. if he was gonna steal from me, id do all i could to be sure he wouldn’t enjoy the club on that char, or any other i could find. A few days after i began shouting, he msgd me, asking me to stop shouting and when a good time for us to meet would be to close our deal. i replied, and gave him time to msg me back. Another week goes by, i catch him online and offer to meet up with him. When we finally do get face to face, he tries to scam me again.. saying he'll give club back for his 1st half of payment returned. i agree, and he asks for payment 'now, then he'll grab club out of MH'. i tell him 'i won’t be a fool twice, we can trade at MH m(. .)m'.. At this point he laughs, and informs me he has sold the club to (kor-something..? i afked with ls on and couldn’t scroll back to the name when i returned). GMs haven’t been able to do (or just haven’t done) anything, so im left to these devices. If u or anyone u know has any info on Shun, or Bstarz (possibly a mule or 2nd char) plz pool it here or on other post boards. Hopefully, with enough 'accurate' info.. maybe GMs will do something; or maybe whoever bought the club will care that it was stolen n i can make a deal with them; or maybe Shun just knowing that everyone knows him n all his char, he'll have to start a new char from scratch cuz no one will deal with him. Or maybe this is all in vain, but i can’t help but do SOMETHING

The GM's will do nothing. You willingly gave him your Kraken Club. All his friends and high lvl cronies are now laughing at you and patting him on the back for getting a good deal. It's just the cold hard facts. People will just tell you that you should not have given it to him until he had full payment. Your 50% at fault here. Ya what he did wasn't nice but most high lvl people will just think its funny and look down their noses at you. Sad but honest truth.

GMs *do* do something about stolen items now.
If you agreed that you're lending someone the item, and they don't return it, GMs will forcefully take it back from them. If, however, they cannot (the person sold the item, gave it away) all that they can do is issue a 72-hour suspension and then warn the person that, if they perform any act to break the license agreement in the future, they will be banned. They make them acknowledge this before returning them to the game.

This is probably why you didn't see him for a bit: he was likely suspended for 72 hours. But now he's back, and nothing more will be done.

As for reputation, I'm sure you won't be able to ruin it much, seeing as he's mostly part of the Japanese community. And there is more than a handful of people who'll just call you an idiot and not care.

Well GM's must police your server differently because on my server they will do ABSOLUTELY NOTHING about an issue like that. They will tell you that you willingly traded and therefore were in agreement that the person can have the item. Been there, done that.

I've heard it both ways on Lakshmi. It just depends on the GM you get. I don't think there's a global policy on these things, some GMs will just decide it's worth their time and some won't.

mm, Shun is very well 'known'.. that gives some hope. hopefully he is well known enough

that someone will know other chars he has. as far as putting the knowledge into JP circles,

i plan on having a JP friend post on some JP boards, as well as shouting during JP time etc.

Jei, if you can find any accurate information, anyone who knows Shun or his other chars, it

would be a huge step m(. .)m

nothing else, GMs could/should tell me that the char was punished and/or why they couldnt

do more. he didnt con me into a 'good deal', which his friends could hi-five him for.. he lied,

which no one would hopefully praise~

I never know him personally
But he was the first and original leader of Starsept LS. Since the first one when we were still HNMRing and up until Starsept 2nd. I was in his LS but never really talk to him because of my limitted Japanese skill.
Then he quit and gave leadership to hellowz. At which point I wasn't their member anymore.
Now Shun's char is back but I don't know if it's still the same guy playing this char anymore.

Well then, you learned a very valuable lesson. You don't go into a car dealership and put money down on a car with no guarentee (paperwork) they will give you the car when you come back with the rest. There are unscrupulous people in the world, in game and out. GMs won't take the time to skim through all of the chat log and find the exact deal made, then skim through the logs of trades, and then verify all of this and deal out punishment because the man hours it takes to do that = money out of SE's pocket. Sad to say. ; ;

The GMs will NEVER tell you what actions they take against another player. They won't tell you what he said to them in reply to your accusations. That violates the privacy rights of the individual is their excuse.

Probably in his opinion, he did con you into a good deal and he is probably bragging to his friends about it. Thats what those type of people do and they also hang out with people just like them who will see the amusement in it. So yes his buddies are patting him on the back and laughing with him because thats what a-holes do and you'll find a fair share of them in game.

Also, GMs are not allowed to tell you what action they take against him, because that also breaks company policy and puts their jobs on the line.

Actually what Tsikuro said is correct, it was an amendment to the ToSA. My bet is if the GM says something like that now they haven't read the new amendments, no surprise to me if that occures our Mail Order department half the time is clueless to changes we make. Sometime even after we just told them in extreem detail what has changed it just doesn't click for them till the situation occurs and the change is pushed on them to do.

I wouldn't be surprised if this is the same case for the GMs.

mmk, i got as close to an acceptable 'guarantee' as i 'know' there to be ingame. if u missed it in the original post: i had him PoL msg me with the details of our arrangement, and i can pull it up onto my log at any time. maybe this isnt good enough, but i did 'get a guarantee' of sorts. no sorting, look at the bottom of my log n there it is. and money out of SE's pockets.. thats what i/we are paying them for, which is why i will make noise in as many ways as i can (im calling customer service to get some of my answers, like what a GM's job IS exactly, what i can do to help make it easier, wtvr).

maybe another would jus accept this, thats fine. i wont stop anyone else from being as pessimistic as they choose to be in the situation. but dont confuse your pessimism with knowledge. its 'possible' he has friends who pat him on the back, same way its POSSIBLE he hides this side of his game actions from everyone around him. u sound hurt TheGrandMom, thats how ppl become so pessimistic in the 1st place. but im not there yet, plz dont try to drag me down to where u are and what u believe. if nothing else i'll kick and scream as much as i can 1st, cuz it'll make me feel better that i did all i could do. there are many forms of 'justice'.. plenty of which dont involve a GM.

maybe i find him, and all of his buddies that MAY 'approve' of his actions, and make sure that the majority of titan knows of them, how titan chooses to treat them from there is up to each individual. wtvr fun he finds ingame can/will be alot harder if ppl choose to make it so. bothering at hnm camps, all of ballista against him.. ppl like to hate, at least this may be an individual who deserves it.

tyVM Jei, that info is extremely helpful, now i can go to members/exmembers of Startsept etc and ask about how the char may have been passed around and who it is actually in control of Shun. if original Shun quit, a friend of his may still be playing that i can get to contact him and ask who he gave his char info to~ ^^
