macro system made easy?

ok i published a thread about setting up macro's for war but and everything is ll confusing to me as i'm new to the game i would like for someone to slow it down and start with step by step i know it's gonna be hell but i really would like some help in this topic so if any of my fellow slyph players are willing to share there knowlege you'd be very welcome

Im not on sylph but i can help write macros anyway :D

All my pallets are full of blm macros atm.

Generally with 6 lines of text like the follwing

/ma "Spell" <t>
/equip head
/equip body
/equip legs
/equip waist
/equip weapon

I like to lay out my macros though in a way that makes them accessable to me, as suck i have all my tier 3 spells on a line, all tier 4, the spells are always in the same order. (thunder > bliz > fire > water > stone) Aditionally i have some extra gear changes for gear at the end of my pallet. Stun is on same macro in each pallet, as is swapping in enmity gear, MAB gear, MB gear. I also keep my ga spells like this, and my debuffs. I find the continuity makes it easier to find macros, no need to scroll for them too much.

I dont really know macros for any other job unfortunately, bar the odd macroed ws that ive used

Anyhow, if you enter 'macro' into the search box, Aegina has written a good tutorial on macros and even has job specific macros. Take a good 15min to read through it, it should really clear up any questions for you.

If you ever end up with some free time, the game has a really useful command that you can use, and it's short, too! Type "/?" into your chat log (without the quotation marks) . . . and be prepared for some serious spam. This will list every single text command available, which is really convenient for making macros. For further details on any specific command, you can type "/?" followed by the command name (e.g. "/? equip"). The game will then provide a detailed explanation of how to use the command and any of it's sub-commands.
