RP linkshell on Siren?

For those of you interested in roleplaying, I know that Shippuu is trying to get a roleplaying linkshell off the ground. I've been the sackholder of two RP linkshells in the past, but both of them never really got beyond a core group of members. Roleplaying a character really adds a new dimension to the game, and requires a lot of imagination; and it's fun!

So if you're interested in roleplaying, or if you don't know what it is, post here or contact me in game. If you're interested in knowing more about roleplaying, go to the Bad RPers Suck website in my signature. There are SEVERAL examples there of how NOT to RP. But there are also resources listed that explain what roleplaying is.

Well... if you ever see Shippuu on, send him a /tell. I know he's trying to get one started again. I'd start one of my own, but don't want to compete since the market of RPers on this server is thin enough as it is.

I've seen mainy rp ls's rise and fall since i've started this game. tell shippuu good luck if i don't see him. maybe i'll get with him and get a pearl

Ok, this whole thing is EXTREMELY intriguing to me. I am a table top RPer myself and enjoy my imagination to the fullest. HOWEVER, no matter how much im reading from the BAD RPers site, im still not in a fully understanding mind as to how the RP world is organized and/or interacts. Some assitance would be greatly appreciated.

basically you talk in character (according to job and what have you) which is kind of fun and if there was a exp party event then of course that would all have to be in character. playing in character during a exp party is very pleasing to me especially when your 20k tnl it kind of takes the drag out. plus you you won't be in one of the pt's that just pull and kill with no interaction between the members. i personally find those pts boring and makes my playtime less of a desire.

Though im still somewhat new to FFXI and still learning my main jobs (which i have been told i do quite well for being so new), I find the PULL,PULL, PULL mentality somewhat redundant. I would love to see more interaction between players. Im not in it for a 5k/hr parser result, but rather to have a good time! This is definatly something i would to partake in. Thank you for the enlightenment Drecan.

Oh, you're being serious?

I'm not sure how you can organize RP in a huge MMORPG setting like this since lots of people come from different time zones. I think it would be hard to set up times for everyone to meet to RP if we're all spread across the world. But I suppose it could be organized to have set RP times on a certain day of the week, or a certain time of day. Either way, I'd love to get back into it again.

I know its easier said then done but hey we can hope and dream lol. When I tried this we ended up making a static pt so we could have fun with it and actually get to know one another better and it made the redundance a little more tolerable.

Is Shippuu planning on coming to this forum?

His name's Shippuu. The linkshell owner is Kaolla. She's on at night around the time I'm on, though I haven't seen her on in the past day or two.

Me and one of my friends have been looking toward a roleplay LS, and since this thread is last-month-old, I thought I'd ask. Is this LS still accepting/running?
